PFP is delighted to present two unique events to celebrate the holidays: WINTER MEMORIES: A HOLIDAY CABARET at Twisted Vine on December 7, and WINTER LEZFEST: A HOLIDAY CELEGAYTION at Mary's Attic on December 15.

Pride Films and Plays is delighted to present its first celebration of winter and holiday stories told by lesbian and genderqueer performers through music, movement, spoken word, and stand up. WINTER LEZFEST: A HOLIDAY CELEGAYTION is created and directed by Lexi Saunders and Amber Snyder, and will include exciting new talent as well as some of the talent which has made PFP's summer LezFest such a sold out smash for the last two years.

Performers for WINTER LEZFEST: A HOLIDAY CELEGAYTION include Angelica Roque, Carolyn Reynolds, Lauren Sivak, Tien Tran, Liz Pazik, Gaby Labotka, Ali Hoefnagel, Darling Shear and Kate Hawbaker-Krohn.

WINTER LEZFEST: A HOLIDAY CELEGAYTION is Tuesday, December 15 at 7 pm at Mary?s Attic, 5400 North Clark. General Admission tickets for LezFest are $10 in advance or $12 at the door. Tickets can be reserved by calling 1 800 737 0984 or online at www.pridefilmsandplays.com.

LezFest raises money for PFP's LezPlay program celebrating works written and/or performed by women with lesbian characters and themes. Two of PFP's full productions in 2016 - Raggedy And by David Valdes Greenwood directed by Cecilie Keenan, and Resolution by Nancy Nyman and Heather McNama (which won PFP?s LezPlay Contest in 2015) and is directed by Charlie Marie McGrath will be fully staged world premieres that fall under the LezPlay umbrella.

PFP's LezPlay Incubator meets on the first Sunday of each month, and artists interested in participating in the development of new lesbian work are invited to attend. Email lezplaypfp@gmail.com for additional information.

PFP is also hosting the LezPlay Queer Bits Film Festival at Public House Theater in February. Film makers interested in submitting a short work with lesbian character or themes that are written and/or directed by a woman may submit their film through FilmFreeway.com by January 15.

PFP's LezPlay Weekend is September 2016 at Center On Halsted and features plays, and performances celebrating works for the stage or screen written by women with lesbian characters or themes.

WINTER MEMORIES: A HOLIDAY CABARET is Monday, December 7 at Twisted Vine, 3530 N Clark. Directed by Jordan Phelps, Winter Memories will feature some of Chicago's best musical talent, including Chris Logan, Robedrt Ollis, James Nedrud, Donterrio Johnson, and Scott Gryder.

Tickets are $25 for reserved seats and $20 for general admission. Food is available from the Twisted Vine menu, and there is cash bar available. Each ticket holder gets entered in a drawing for holiday door prizes. Tickets can be purchased at 1 800 737 0984 or on line here.

The mission of Pride Films and Plays is to change lives through the generation of diverse new work (or work that is new to Chicago) with LGBTQ+ characters or themes that is essential viewing for all audiences. We accomplish this mission through fully-staged productions, writing contests and staged readings, film screenings, and special events. We foster long term relationships with artists to create programming that is as diverse, unique, and complex as the community we represent. In 2015, Huffington Post called PFP "A powerful and empowering entity."

PFP's current season began with the Jeff Recommended productions of Men on the Verge of a His-Panic Breakdown at the Apollo Studio Theater, The Boy From Oz at Stage 773, and Noel Coward's Design for Living running through November 22 at Rivendell Theater.

In 2016, Ten Dollar House by Rick Kinnebrew and Martha Meyer runs January 7 to 31 at Piccolo Theatre. The final selection for this year is the world premiere of Raggedy And by David Valdes Greenwood running March 10 to April 12 at Rivendell.

In addition, our script and screenplay development programs continue throughout the year at Center on Halsted, including Gay Play Weekend (May 2016), LezPlay (September 2016) featuring plays and screenplays written by women with lesbian characters or themes, and Gay Film Weekend (November 13 to 15, 2015) featuring LGBT screenplays and screenings.

PFP's Queer Bits Fall Film Festival II is November 9. For more information, visit www.pridefilmsandplays.com or call 1 800 737 0984.
