Polarity Ensemble Theatre, in association with Azusa Productions, will present the Midwest premiere of David Hammond's Tom Jones, adapted from Henry Fielding's novel, March 20 – April 29, 2012, directed by Maggie Speer.

Polarity Ensemble Theatre is in residence at Wicker Park's Josephinum Academy. The theater is located at 1500 N. Bell Street, Chicago. Previews begin March 20th and Gala Premiere Night is on Friday, March 23.

About the show: "A comically sexy celebration of the truths and realities of life, this adaptation brings to the stage Henry Fielding's 1749 novel, Tom Jones, a story also adapted into the highly popular, Academy Award winning 1963 film by Tony Richardson, starring Albert Finney. The story follows the journey of a bastard child of mysterious origin who is adopted into the family of Squire Allworthy. Limited by the inability to inherit the family fortune and desperately in love with Sophia Western, a young gentlewoman from a neighboring estate, Tom finds himself in a comedic whirlwind of circumstantial dilemmas and break-neck love affairs."

The cast features Jonathan Beal, Kevin Bishop, Kim Boler, Marcus Davis (as Tom), Richard Engling, Alex Fisher (as Sophia), Hope Grandon, Gary Henderson, Catherine Hermes, Charley Jordan, Chris Lysy, Adrienne Matzen, Allison McCorkle, Pat Parks, Nick Shea, Ryan Swikle, Evan Voboril.

The show is directed by Maggie Speer, with stage management and props design by Lene Hardy, technical direction and lighting design by Steven Hill, set design by Dennis Mae, costume design by Carla Hamilton, sound design by Andrew Dallas, and fight choreography by Zack Meyer. Lindsay Bartlett is Dialect Coach. Kelli Marino is Dramaturg. Eric Damon Smith is Casting Coordinator. Chuck Palia is Resident Tech Director. And Richard Engling is Artistic Director.
