Pivot Arts has announced the November/December 2014 line-up of its monthly POP UP! PERFORMANCE SERIES - connecting artists, local businesses and arts patrons on Chicago's Far north Side. The upcoming installments of the series will be performed at Pivot Arts' newest partner venue: Uncommon Ground, 1401 W. Devon St. in Chicago. The line-up includes:

Cabaret Show
Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at 8 pm
Presented by Pivot Arts

Clown acts, "humanette" puppets, a live silent movie, ukuleles, live music and more! Hosted by Plucky Rosenthal, a vintage vaudeville performer with a musical twist, the fun-filled evening includes: Vanessa S. Valliere's "humanette" puppet show Your Best Self (puppetry by Manual Cinema's Lizi Breit); live music from lit-folk trio 80 Foots Per Minute; and The Nowhow (and How to Now! It), performed by Curious Theater Branch's Jenny Magnus - followed by an audience participation creative writing act.

A Survival Guide To The Holidays
Wednesday, December 17 at 8 pm
Presented by Pivot Arts and Story Sessions
Top-notch writers and performers including Julie Ganey, Ike Holter, Mia McCullough, Tanya Palmer and Sharon Lanza entertain and advise us how to survive the holiday season with personal holiday tales. The evening will also includes a live musical performance by a local band.

Pivot Arts' POP UP! PERFORMANCE SERIES occurs monthly at local businesses and empty storefronts throughout the Far North Side. Pivot Arts' partnerships with local businesses help boost the local economy by bringing arts patrons directly to establishments in Chicago's Uptown and Edgewater neighborhoods. Past POP UP! business partners have included FLATS Chicago, Independent Spirits Lickity Split Custard and Sweets, Hopleaf, Metropolis Coffee, Kitchen Sink and Burke's Pub.

"Pivot Arts brings fascinating pop-up performances to nontraditional spaces, including local businesses in Edgewater," comments Katrina Balog, Executive Director of the Edgewater Chamber of Commerce. "The success of the events for the businesses is a clear indicator of the importance arts and culture in economic growth."

Pivot Arts is a home for innovative music, theater and dance on Chicago's far north side. They develop new work and present unique performances throughout the year culminating in a multi-arts festival. Their vision is that of a vibrant community where unique collaborations between artists, businesses and organizations leads to the support and creation of innovative performance events. Pivot Arts was founded in 2012, became an official not-for-profit in 2014 and is led by director, Julieanne Ehre.
