Charlie Roedel returns to Appalachia to clean up the mess his brother left behind. He's paying off a debt that isn't his. The woman of his dreams loves the man who left her there. There are no prospects. No jobs. No hope. And a homicidal Sheriff wants a batch of meth cooked by Thursday. Written by ensemble member Joshua Rollins, author of last year's provocative hit A Girl With Sun in Her Eyes, 25 SAINTS takes a hard look at a world many of us choose to ignore and doesn't blink.
Joshua Rollins (Playwright) A Girl with Sun in Her Eyes marked Josh's first collaboration with Pine Box Theater Company, of which he is now an Ensemble Member. Other works include American Rex which just had its world premiere with Chicago Street Theatre and was a finalist for the Eugene O'Neill Playwrights Conference; Concealed Carry, which is currently being workshopped in Colorado; and other full lengths in various stages of development. His one acts have been produced by Pine Box, American Theater Company, American Blues Theatre, The Artistic Home and many others.
Susan E. Bowen (Director) co-produced Pine Box Theater Company's ElectionFest 2012 at Theater Wit and directed Rachel Axler's Cliffside, one of 12 short plays featured in the festival. Susan was assistant director to Jessica Thebus on Late: A Cowboy Song at Piven Theatre Workshop and to Laura Eason on her adaptation of Ethan Frome at Lookingglass Theatre. She also directed a staged reading of The House of Mr. Orange by Aasif Mandvi at Access Theater in New York, where her previous credits include work with Epic Theatre Ensemble, Elevator Repair Service and Circle East, among other companies.
