"A Nightmare on Backstreet: A Boy Band Musical Parody" opens tonight, October 17th, 2014 at 8pm at The Public House Theatre. BroadwayWorld has a sneak peek at the cast below!

Directed by Ricky Glore and Jaclyn Loberg, with choreography by Loberg and original music by Jeff Strickland, "A Nightmare on Backstreet" stars Noah Evans Arnold, Kelsey Burd, Ali Delianides, Andre DuBois, David Kaplinsky, Bobby Kay, Megan Renner, Brenda Scott Wzazlo and Veronica Yurgil.

Once upon a time, a town burned a baby killer alive. Now, Teddy Crooner is back, and he's stalking the dreams of heart-sick teenagers with impossibly catchy music and a crew of pop-tastic back-up dancers. "A Nightmare on Backstreet" is a satirical, musical send-up of Wes Craven's cult classic ("A Nightmare on Elm Street"), set to the music and choreography of the Backstreet Boys. Teddy Crooner is the master puppeteer of his victims. If he kills them in their dreams, they die in real life. 30 years after Elm Street, Backstreet is the new terror in the minds of our kids.

Ricky Glore has always loved two things: musicals and cult horror. When he was growing up as a child of the Boy Band Torn millennium, he sided with the Backstreet Boys. This year, with a Halloween show calling him, he set to work on a satire of "A Nightmare on Elm Street," and, revisiting old loves, quickly discovered how eerily well the greatest hits of the Backstreet Boys agreed with the plot of "Elm Street." With very few edits, he and Jeff Strickland crafted a musical satire of the beloved film. Jaclyn Loberg came on as choreographer and co-director, executing her astute theory that the smooth moves of the Backstreet Boys were, on the whole, based on a jumping jack.

Freddy Krueger became the sweet-voiced Teddy Crooner (Bobby Kay), impeccably costumed with horrifying burns and a handmade claw. His backup dancers (Megan Renner and Veronica Yurgil) sport the iconic fedoras and striped sweater-dresses. He creeps through the dreams of oversexed high-school couple Tee (Kelsey Burd) and Bod (David Kaplinsky, u/s Andre DuBois), with brave Stacey (Ali Delianides) mooning over Depp (Noah Evans Arnold) while trying to avenge her friends and learn the secrets that her alcoholic mother (Brenda Scott Wzazlo) is keeping from her.

The show continues Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm with late shows on Friday, October 31st at 11:30pm (Halloween) Saturday, November 1st at 11:30pm. The production will close Saturday, November 1st, 2014. Runtime: 80 min. Tickets: $15 The Public House Theatre is located at 3914 N. Clark Street, Chicago, IL 60613.
