Hallie Foote, actress and daughter of the late playwright Horton Foote, visited the Raven Theatre on Tuesday, January 13 to observe a rehearsal of Horton Foote's Dividing the Estate and again on the 14th for a public interview to discuss her father's work. The January 14th interview was conducted by Goodman Theatre Resident Artistic Associate Henry Wishcamper. Scroll down for photos from Foote's visit!

Dividing the Estate, a 2008-09 Tony Award nominee for Best Original Play and Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role (HallieFoote), will finally be seen in Chicago when Raven Theatre's production begins preview performances on Tuesday, January 27.

This comedy-drama by the Pulitzer Prize and two-time Academy Award winner Horton Foote focuses on the feuds and disputes among members of a wealthy Texas family whose fortunes have declined. Dividing the Estate was Foote's last new play to be presented on Broadway. Raven Theatre, who produced Foote's The Trip to Bountiful in 2013, will be the first company to bring this acclaimed script to a Chicago stage. Raven associate artistic director Cody Estle (Raven's Brighton Beach Memoirsand Vieux Carré, The Artistic Home's Watch on the Rhine and Mary-Arrchie's Uncle Bob) will direct.

The cast includes Marssie Mencotti, Ron Wells, JoAnn Montemurro, Millie Spencer-Hurley, Jon Steinhagen, Tim Martin, Eliza Stoughton, Kathyrn Acosta, Angela Sandall, J.J. McCormick, Shariba Rivers, BritneyLove Smith and Hillary Horvath.

The design team includes Jeffrey D. Kmiec (set designer), Kurt Ottinger (lighting designer), Kate Murphy (costume designer) Christopher M. LaPorte (sound designer) and Julia Carusillo (properties design). Also on the production team are Tara Malpass (Stage Manager), Jacqueline Wills (assistant director), Jenna Meyers (assistant stage manager) and Debrorah Blumenthal (dramaturg).

Previews will be January 27 - February 1, 2015, with the press opening Monday, February 2, 2015. The regular run will be February 5 - March 28, 2015. Tickets are on sale now at www.raventheatre.com or by calling 773-338-2177. Raven Theatre is located at 6157 N. Clark St., Chicago. There are a limited number of free parking spaces available in the parking lot adjacent to the theatre, and free on-street parking is available nearby.
