Photo Flash: First Look at Walkabout Theater's Outdoor Spectacle TALL GIRL AND THE LIGHTNING PARADE

Walkabout Theater Company is pleased to celebrate summer with TALL GIRL AND THE LIGHTNING PARADE, an interactive, outdoor parade and performance spectacle featuring over 30 multi-disciplinary artists - performed in both Spanish and English and perfect for the entire family. Five free performances will be presenTed August 16, August 23-24 and August 26-27, 2016 at unique outdoor venues across the City, primarily through the Chicago Park District's "Night Out in the Parks" series. The press performance is tonight, August 16 at 7 pm at The Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts, and BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!

Walkabout Theater's dedicated ensemble of eight is collaborating with 25 additional Chicago artists to create an immersive, celebratory performance with live music, masks, stilt-walkers and large-scale moments of choreography. Inspired by the Tzutujil Mayan story shared by Martín Prechtel in his book, The Disobedience of the Daughter of the Sun, TALL GIRL AND THE LIGHTNING PARADE tells the dramatic tale of Tall Girl's magical courtship with the iridescent little Hummingbird Boy.

Conceived and directed by Walkabout Co-Artistic Director Thom Pasculli* and co-adapted by Isaac Fosl-van Wyke and Enid Munoz, TALL GIRL AND THE LIGHTNING PARADE will feature Lucía Mier y Terán Romero as Tall Girl, Micah Figueroa as Hummingbird Boy, Meghan Lewis as Moon, Alex Rodriguez* as Sun and Noah Appelbaum as Q'iq with Sam Allyn, Jordan Arredando, Claire Bauman, Nigel Brown*, Ellen DeSitter, David Dowd, McCambridge Dowd-Whipple*, Isaac Fosl-van Wyke, Kellyn Jackson, Kevin Jandrists, Arthur Lockhart, Angela Luem, Anjelica Masson, Dana Murphy*, Sarah Nelson, Kelly Nesheim, Emily Robinson, Aerica Siegal and Stephanie Vondell. *Walkabout company members.
