The Chicago cast of Altar Boyz - Devin DeSantis (Matthew), Brian Crum (Mark), Tyler McGee (Luke), Adam Zelasko (Juan), and Nick Verina (Abraham) - celebrated their 100th performance at Drury Lane Water Tower Place (175 E. Chestnut St.) on Thursday, January 3, 2008.  Altar Boyz is now playing in Chicago through March 2, 2008.  Tickets, priced from $45 to $55, are currently on sale via the Drury Lane Water Tower Place Box Office, by calling 312-642-2000 or online at Ticketmaster.com.

"Armed with catchy melodies, heavenly harmonies, divine moves and gobs of hair product, the Altar Boyz are five small-town guys trying to save the world - one screaming fan at a time.  Presented as a concert in real-time, this hilarious musical comedy sweetly satirizes the phenomenon of boy bands, the popularity of Christian-themed music, and excessive product placement in contemporary American culture.  The group's amusingly pious pop act features laugh-out-loud lyrics such as 'Girl You Make Me Wanna Wait' and 'Jesus Called Me on My Cell Phone,'" explain press notes.

Altar Boyz will host a League of Chickago Theatres "Theater Thursday" event on Thursday, January 10 at 6:30 p.m. Ticket holders can mingle with members of the creative team and enjoy a pre-show reception in the lobby courtesy of Connie's Pizza.  Following the 7:30PM performance guests will have the opportunity to take part in an exclusive post-show talk-back with "the boyz." Tickets, priced at only $30, include the reception, show, and Q&A, and are available by calling the Drury Lane Box Office at 312-642-2000.

Altar Boyz began performances at Drury Lane Water Tower Place on September 28 and has been met with overwhelming audience response and widespread critical acclaim.  The Jeff-Recommended production is directed by Stafford Arima, choreographed by Christopher Gattelli (both of the original New York creative team), and produced by Joe McGinnis, a recent Tony Award winner for Spring Awakening (Best Musical 2007), and Bart Kahn, who also serves as Resident Director.  Musical Director Alan Bukowiecki conducts a band on-stage comprised of Jeremy Ramey on keyboard, Ethan Deppe on drums, and Malcolm Ruhl on guitar.  Radio legend Roy Leonard can be heard as "the Voice of G.O.D."  Understudies are Joey Haro and David Morrison.

The new performance schedule for Altar Boyz, January 3, 2008 – March 2, 2008 is as follows:  Wednesdays at 2 p.m. & 7:30 p.m.; Thursdays at 7:30 p.m.; Fridays at 8 p.m.; Saturdays at 2 p.m. & 8 p.m.; and Sundays at 2 p.m. & 7 p.m.  There will be an additional performance on Tuesday, January 29 at 7:30 p.m.  There will be no evening performance on "Super Bowl Sunday," February 3 at 7 p.m.

Tickets, priced from $45 to $55, are currently on sale via the Drury Lane Water Tower Place Box Office, by calling 312-642-2000 or online at Ticketmaster.com.  A select number of VIP tickets are available for $75.  Discounts are available for groups of 15 or more by calling 312-423-6612.  A limited number of student rush tickets, priced at $25, will be available the day of each performance at the Drury Lane Box Office only.
