'PAC the House' Monthly Variety Show at Pride Arts Center Premieres September 17

Pride Films and Plays today announced a new monthly series of shows spotlighting a cross-genre feast of queer and queer-ally local performers.

Titled "PAC THE HOUSE" (using an acronym for Pride Arts Center), the series will debut on Sunday, September 17th at 8pm with a show hosted by out comedian and radio host Scott Duff and featuring hip hop/soul/RnB artist King Reza, female female impersonator Maureen SanDiego, storyteller James Anthony, drag performer Mikki Miraj and Lady Crush, an all-female improv group.

PAC THE HOUSE will be performed monthly on varying Sundays in The Broadway, Pride Arts Center at 4139 N. Broadway. Curtain times will be 8 pm and tickets are priced at $12 online and $15 at the door and will be available soon at www.pridefilmsandplays.com or 1 800 737 0984. Performances are also planned for Sundays October 29, November 26 and December 17, 2017.

ARTISTS SCHEDULED TO PERFORM ON SEPTEMBER 17TH:

King Reza (a.k.a Super King Reza) is an Independent Chicago-based Hip-Hop/RnB/Soul Artist. His debut project "ways" was recorded at Second Bedroom Studio, and released in August 2016 to critical acclaim. Reza is currently working on his 2nd Project "We Don't Have to Go Nowhere (WDHTGN)", which is set to be released August 23rd, 2017. In addition to the Super King Reza (SKR) brand, Reza is one-half of CHORESxREZA- a Collaborative Hip-Hop Duo with fellow Chicago artist Chore Boy.

Scott Duff is a Chicago-based actor, comedian, radio host, and professional gay. He is the host/producer of The Kiki: Queer Comedy with Variety. As an actor, he has performed with Steppenwolf, Goodman, Chicago Shakespeare, About Face Theatre (Artistic Associate and founding member), ATC, and Lookingglass Theatre, and he can be seen in a variety of independent films. You can listen to Scott every Sunday on OUT CHICAGO, a weekly live talk show for the LGBT community airing from 11am-1pm on WCPT, Chicago's Progressive Talk AM & FM.

Maureen SanDiego is Chicago's premiere cabaret enter-taint-er and female female impersonator. She makes frequent appearances at Berlin Nightclub, as well as Chicago Underground comedy, The Lincoln Lodge, The Second City, Uptown Underground, The Paper Machete and lots of dive bars she can't remember the name of. Where's the buffet?

James Anthony (Gingy, They/Them) moved to Chicago in 2014 on a bus with two bags from New Orleans with a dream. James has worked with the Evanston Chamber of Commerce, Victory Gardens Theater, Dance with M.E. and currently serves as the Marketing Coordinator for About Face Theatre, Marketing Manager for The Actors Gymnasium, and Audience Services Manager for Pride Films & Plays. James is a Licensed ZUMBA Instructor and is a member of Actors' Equity Association. They loves branding, ideas, follow through and action. James enjoys developing inspiring content to reach a diverse audience, collaborating with organizations where commitment is valued, diversity and inclusiveness are celebrated, and education and entertainment collide with unique quality. They also really enjoys copy editing, as well as fashion and fried chicken. #ReclaimingMyTime

Mikki Miraj is the Harajuku-inspired Fairy Princess of Drag. Her zany, cartoonish approach to drag is inspired by video games, musical theatre, and her life as a queer person of color. She has worked with Pride Films and Plays on their popular adaptation "BITE" directed by Derek Van Barham last Summer. Mikki can be seen at various venues in the city, most commonly Berlin and Sidetrack-- she will be performing in the upcoming charity event "Dragapalooza" Aug. 31st at Sidetrack. Lady Crush is an improv team comprised of Sarah Mitchell, Erin Uttich, and Christina Seo. They aim to explore the dopeness and silliness of everyday life. You can find them performing at iO Chicago, The Crowd and many other theaters across Chicago.

Pride Arts Center (PAC), operated by Pride Films and Plays, opened in 2016 and consists of two performance spaces: The Buena at 4147 N. Broadway which has 50 seats and The Broadway at 4139 N. Broadway which has 85 seats. PAC has become an important part of the arts environment in the Buena Park neighborhood and beyond by hosting events including After Orlando, Bechdel Fest, SheFest and the 525,600 Minutes Cabaret.
