And He saw that it was Good…

While the Archdiocese of Chicago comes to terms with some unsavory moments from its past, two young  Catholics are getting candid with their faith. Vincent Lacey and Natalie Sullivan are Hopelessly Devoted.

Bucking the usual treatment of religion in comedy, Hopelessly Devoted reaches beyond the lazy one-liners  and fatuous faith bashing to offer up something new. Original songs and scenes, familiar characters and  first-person confessions weave a tale of heartache and hilarity.  It's an intimate journey into a life-long  devotion by two practicing believers.

Religion has never been loved quite so irreverently.

Fun facts about Hopelessly Devoted:
• Lacey and Sullivan bonded over their minority status as non-ironic religious devotees in the most
unlikely of places: the Chicago comedy scene. Over a year later, their show was born.
• Natalie, a Sunday school teacher, once convinced an ex-boyfriend to convert to Catholicism. Tune
in to find out what happened right before his final Confirmation.
• Vincent has never been inside a public school. His all-parochial education began at Florida Bible
Christian School and ended at the Catholic University of America.
• Director Anthony LeBlanc, a member of the Second City Touring Company, moved to Chicago to
be the Catholic representative of an interfaith house.
• Between cast and crew, Hopelessly Devoted has over 80 combined years of Catholic experience.

Fresh off their successful world debut at the Laugh Out Loud Theater in Schaumburg, Hopelessly Devoted opens Thursday, September 18th at 8 PM in the Apolllo Studio Theater. Lacey and Sullivan are veterans of  several Chicago comedy ensembles and are thrilled to open their show in Chicago.
