The Revival, Hyde Park's comedy theater, announces its lineup of shows and events playing in November 2017. Inspired by the legacy of the Compass Players, The Revival brings improvisational comedy back to the same corner where it was invented in 1955! Tickets can be purchased by visiting www.the-revival.com. The Revival is located at 1160 E. 55th St. in Hyde Park.

All the President's Men (Film Screening) and Q&A with Carl Bernstein and David Axelrod

Join the University of Chicago Institute Of Politics (IOP) as we welcome renowned journalist Carl Bernstein, whose reporting with Bob Woodward on the Watergate scandal helped bring about the resignation of President Nixon. In the decades since his Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative work, Mr. Bernstein has reported for ABC News, profiled several world leaders, and written five best-selling books.

The IOP will screen the film adaptation of his and Woodward's 1974 book, All The President's Men. After the film, Mr. Bernstein will discuss his experience covering Washington and the presidency for more than half a century. IOP Director David Axelrod will moderate this discussion.

This event is free and open to UChicago students, faculty, staff and the public.

The Hutchins Plan

The Hutchins Plan is named for early twentieth century University of Chicago President Robert Maynard Hutchins. Featuring "Special Guests" from across the College, the performance begins with an extemporaneous monologue that inspires a series of interconnected scenes.

Join host Prof. Randal Picker (UChicago Law) and The Hutchins Plan Ensemble for an evening of classic long-form improvisation. This week, featuring UChicago Economics Professor Greg Kaplan!

About The Revival

The Revival is a new comedy venue in Hyde Park dedicated to reflecting the diversity of Chicago's South Side on stage. Inspired by the legacy of the Compass Players, The Revival brings improvisational comedy back to the very spot where it was born on the northeast corner of 55th Street and University Avenue. This 150-seat, cabaret-style theater features a diverse range of programming including sketch comedy, improv, standup, music and more.
