Next Theatre Company is proud to announce the second production in their 2010-2011 What's Next Series with James Andrew Zoccoli's Wiggerlover [white boy + black dad = grey areas directed by Andrea Fears, September 23 - October 2, 927 Noyes Street in Evanston.  Zoccoli performs in his semi-autobiographical work telling the story of his desire as a half-Italian, half-Polish to be all black when his white mother gets remarried to an African-American man.  Next Theatre also adds ETTY to the roster of the What's Next Series, October 7 - 10. Wiggerlover is performed Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m.  Tickets are $20 with subscriber and student discounts available. Tickets may be purchased at nexttheatre.org or by calling 847-475-1875 x2.   

James Andrew Zoccoli, an ensemble member of Strawdog Theatre Co., directed Toasting George, a radio/theatre hybrid in 2002 at the theatre, which led to the "Wireless" program from 2003 to 2006. More recently, he authored The Proper Papers, a thrilling audio drama, under the auspices of Strawdog's Late Night Series "The Hit Factory." He is currently a writer & announcer for the perpetually popular Game Show Show...& Stuff!  Zoccoli is a playwright, actor and voiceover talent. He has performed with Live Bait, Noble Fool, Chicago Children's Theatre, Adventure Stage & Chicago Shakespeare. His autobiographical solo performance piece Wiggerlover debuted at the 20th Annual "Abbie Hoffman Died for Our Sins" Theatre Festival in 2008 and has been performed at various venues throughout Chicago.

ETTY - CHICAGO PREMIERE!
Actor/writer Susan Stein has created this production adapting Etty Hillesum's writings into a powerful and moving 60 minutes in which Stein portrays Etty, a young woman appointed by the Nazis to the Jewish Council in Holland. The story portrays Etty's fears and her close relationships with God, friends and family that make her existence in the Amsterdam ghetto more livable.   Steppenwolf ensemble member Austin Pendleton directs ETTY.

2nd Story is a hybrid performance event combining storytelling, wine, and music that is produced by the Serendipity Theater Collective as both a monthly performance series and an annual festival.  2nd Story performs at Chicago's Webster's Wine Bar and Red Kiva Lounge and has been featured on WBEZ, Chicago Public Radio.  2nd Story regulars Julie Ganey, Deborah Lewis and Ric Walker will weave stories of the highs and lows of parenting and being parented.

What's Next Lab is a launching pad for the most daring and socially relevant work Chicagoland playwrights can write.  Plays such as Killer Joe by Tracy Letts and Bouncers by John Godber found a home at Next Lab, introducing Chicagoland audiences to many incredibly exciting playwrights in a barebones and intimate environment.
The Next Theatre is located inside the Noyes Cultural Arts Center in Evanston, right next to the Noyes street stop on the Evanston "el."  Free parking is available in the lot adjacent to the theatre and the Evanston Civic Center.

Next Theatre Box Office hours are from 12 - 6 p.m. weekdays and 2 hours prior to curtain. The box office is closed on Monday unless a show is scheduled. All tickets are held at will-call until pick-up on the day of performance, unless the tickets have been purchased in person.
