The writing team of Cindy O'Connor and Larry Todd Cousineau have announced a concert presentation of their latest musical, Flies! The Musical! on August 14th, 2017 at 8:00PM at Uptown Underground, 4707 N Broadway, Chicago. This concert production features Musical Direction by Jimmy Morehead and performances by Frankie Leo Bennett, Veronica Garza, Sharreise Hamilton, Ashlee Hardgrave, Luke Meierdiercks, Steven Perkins, Sawyer Smith and Tiffany Tatreau.

When the Lovely Valley Performing Arts Magnet High School Drama Department produces a teacher-written, musical production of a famous novel (that they can't use the title for), all hell breaks loose in Flies! The Musical! The kids, left behind at a "research" retreat, gradually turn savage in a couple of unsupervised hours. The clever award-winning team of O'Connor and Cousineau again create their own special brand of madness and music.

O'Connor & Cousineau's works include 40 is the New 15, which had a critically-acclaimed run at the NoHo Arts Center in Los Angeles, receiving Best New Musical award from Stagescene LA in and a GLAAD Media Award Nomination for Outstanding Los Angeles Theatre. Their musical drama, All That He Was, earned them the Kennedy Center National Playwright's Award and the ACTF Musical Theater Award. O'Connor's music can be heard in Once Upon a Time (ABC), Crash (Starz), Dolphin Tale, and Forgiving the Franklins (Sundance). Cousineau's writing has been featured in animated series including Yin, Yang, Yo! (Disney), The New Care Bears, and Pepper Ann. His Songs from My Closet cabaret series was recently seen at Uptown Underground and as part of the Chicago Fringefest.

Tickets can be purchased for $15-$25 at www.uptownunderground.com.
