As it approaches its third anniversary of residence in the Downtown Theatre District, the record-breaking Chicago company of Wicked will soon enable a new block of tickets for purchase. Tickets for performances July 29 – November 2, 2008 will go on-sale to the public on Friday, May 9 at 10 a.m.
Tickets for
Wicked range in price from $25 - $90 and are available via the Broadway In Chicago Ticket Line at (312) 902-1400, in person at all Broadway In Chicago box offices, all Ticketmaster ticket centers and online at ticketmaster.com.
Breaking multiple box office records since opening,
Wicked is the top grossing and longest running Broadway show in Chicago history. Chicago's
Wicked celebrated its 1000th performance in November 2007 and has performed to well over 2 million audience members.
The Chicago company of
Wicked plays in an open run at the Ford Center for the Performing Arts, Oriental Theatre, 24 West Randolph Street.
Wicked currently has productions in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, London, Tokyo, Stuttgart and on National Tour. Based on the novel by
Gregory Maguire,
Wicked has music and lyrics by
Stephen Schwartz, book by
Winnie Holzman, and musical staging by
Wayne Cilento. The production is directed by
Joe Mantello.
