Charles H. Mottier, an attorney with Leydig, Voit & Mayer, Ltd., has joined the Board of Directors for Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre, a Rogers Park-based cabaret theatre company.

Theo Ubique, which performs in the No Exit Cafe, 6970 N. "Charles is a long-time patron and donor of Theo Ubique and has a lengthy history of community service, particularly in the arts.  We look forward to working with him on the Theo Ubique Board and know he will bring much valuable advice and experience," said Ald. Joe Moore, Board Chair.
Mottier joined Leydig, Voit & Mayer in 1981 and was elected to the firm's shareholdership in 1986.  His present practice involves all aspects of intellectual property law, including litigation, prosecution and counseling.  He serves on the firm's Board of Directors and chairs the firm's Marketing Committee, having previously served in other aspects of the firm's management, including Chair of the Professional Development and Recruiting Committees.  He is a regular contributing columnist for Chicago Lawyer Magazine.

Among Mottier's volunteer activities, past and present, are:  Board of Governors, Smart Museum; Secretary and Board Member, Neighborhood Writing Alliance; Visiting Committee member to the Department of Art History as well as for the Visual Arts, University of Chicago; Board Member, Asian Arts Council, The Art Institute of Chicago.

Mottier received a BS in General Engineering in 1978 and a JD in 1981 from the University of Illinois, where he was a James Scholar.  In 1980, he received a certificate of advanced study in constitutional legal history from Magdalen College, Oxford University.  While in law school, he was a member of the Illinois Bar Journal.
