Metropolis Presents Hilarious Puppet Musical AVENUE Q

Metropolis presents the Tony Award-winning musical comedy Avenue Q May 17 - June 30, 2018.

What exactly does a recent college graduate do with a BA in English? Well, if that graduate also happens to be a puppet they move to Avenue Q, of course. There he'll find others like him trying to make sense of their "purpose" in life dealing with careers and relationships. Tony winner for Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book, this musical is stuffed with an up-beat and incredibly witty score. Avenue Q does not intersect with that other famous Street where puppets live, as this show is entertaining, touching, and hilarious, but definitely not one for the kids. *Mature Audiences Only - Explicit Lyrics & Content - Rated R.

Preview performances of Avenue Q at Metropolis are May 17-20, 2018. Regular run performances are May 24 - June 30, 2018. Specific dates and times are listed below. Metropolis' cast for Avenue Q includes Emily Bailey (Christmas Eve), Emilie Rose Danno (Kate Monster), Jordan DeBose (Brian), Joe Farrell (Bad Idea Bear/Ricky/Ensemble), Colin Funk (Newcomer/Ensemble), Josh Kemper (Rod), Aaron Lockman (Nicky), Aziza Macklin (Gary Coleman), William Marquez (Trekkie Monster), Alex Newkirk (Princeton), Emma Rathe (Bad Idea Bear/Ensemble), and Michelle Tibble (Lucy/Mrs. T). Understudies include Daniel Dempsey and Gavin Pak.

Avenue Q has Music and Lyrics by Robert Lopez & Jeff Marx, with a Book by Jeff Whitty. Directed by Metropolis Resident Director Lauren Rawitz, Music Directed by Kailey Rockwell, Choreographed by Kristine Burdi-Stickney. Designers are Michael Patrick (Sound Designer), Robert Pinta (Scenic Designer/Technical Director), Linda Scheufler & Neil Scheufler (Props Designers), Cathy Tantillo (Costume Designer), and Matt Winstead (Lighting Designer). Metropolis Executive/Artistic Director is Joe Keefe. Metropolis Production Manager is William A. Franz, Assistant Production Manager is Sara Elizabeth Buto.

Avenue Q is the third show of the 2017-2018 Main Stage Subscription Series at Metropolis, bringing first class entertainment to the northwest suburbs. The final show of the Subscription Series at Metropolis is the colorful decade revue Beehive: The 60's Musical (July 12 - August 25, 2018).
