Mary-Arrchie Theatre Co. has been wrapping up its last 21 seasons by inviting any and all theater groups and performing individuals into its performance space at Angel Island, 735 W. Sheridan to celebrate the anniversary of the Woodstock Music and Art Fair of 1969. Abbie Hoffman Died For Our Sins was inspired by the need to do something to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Woodstock. Now it is the 41st Anniversary and there is an even louder outcry for celebration. This is the 22nd annual Abbie Hoffman Died For Our Sins. We have strived to recreate the spirit of Woodstock over the years by bringing some 40-50 different theater groups and performing individuals together for 3 days of non-stop theatrical entertainment and nothing but theatrical entertainment. This year we are ending our 22nd season with the festival happening on August 20, 21 & 22. Tickets for the event are $10 for a day pass (come and go all day just make sure you've got your pass), or $25 for a weekend pass (same as day pass only it applies toward the whole weekend). A free vintage Abbie Hoffman T-shirt will be given with all $25 weekend passes.

This year's event involves many of the mainstays of past festivals with many New Groups and individuals. The festivities begin at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 20 when we all gather at the Daley Center and at 3 p.m. embark on a peaceful march back to Angel Island, home of Mary-Arrchie Theatre Co. for the opening ceremonies at 7 p.m. with Richard Cotovsky's portrayal of Abbie Hoffman to bless a non-stop weekend focused on exchanging ideas and resources between theaters, individuals, and audience members and of course watching and performing spiritually uplifting, quality, and kick-ass theater ending literally sometime in the wee hours of Monday, August 23rd.

Some of the highlights of this years festival include The Band of 1000 Names, Black Forest, Bruised Orange Theater, Chicago Fusion Theatre, Citizens' Relief, Cold Basement Dramatics, The Consortium Project, Dandelion Arts Center, Democracy Burlesque, Dramageddon, Esteban Andres Cruz, Existential Crises, The Factory Theater, Factory Theater Alumni, Famous In The Future, Fury Theater Co., Full Voice, Giggling Pyramid Theatre, Good Looking People, The Harlotry and Necromancy Appreciation Society, The Inconvenience, Highly Recommended, J & M Comedy Hour, Jack Tamburri & Friends, James/Michalek?Productions, Jimmy Gamble, John Adams and the T-Pain Vaudeville Troupe, Lights Out Theatre Company, Mary-Arrchie West, Meow, N/A Jack Dugan Carpenter, New Skin, Nothing Without A Company, PepperKat Productions, The Plagiarists, Rare Terra, Reasonable Facsimile Theater Co., Roshambo Theatre, Red Ink Theatre, A Red Orchid Theatre, Rush Pearson, The Renegades, Sam Houston Theatre, The Sweet Life, Theatre O' Th' Absurd, Tympanic Theatre, and of course the hosts of the event Mary-Arrchie Theatre Co. bringing it's productions of Bitch With Rich, Gas Mask 101 and Wild Dogs.
