Mary-Arrchie Theatre Company to Present GEOGRAPHY OF A HORSE DREAMER This September

Sam Shepard's Geography of a Horse Dreamer will be coming to Angel Island this September! It is directed by Carlo Lorenzo Garcia (Red Light Winter, Our Bad Magnet) and features Simon Ahmed, Bill Daniel, Rudy Galvan, Christopher Meister, Gavin Robinson, Matt Rockwood, Kevin Stark, & Mark Vallarta.

Geography of a Horse Dreamer is a twisted and menacing tale of abduction & exploitation. It weaves the story of Cody, a cowboy with the ability to predict horse race winners in his dreams, who is kidnapped by gangsters and exploited for their monetary gain. When his gift begins to fade, his very life hangs in the balance.

A homeless man living on the streets of St. Louis, post-WWII, navigates through the gritty back alleys of his imagination to the events that led to his ultimate demise. LA-based Jeff Award winning ensemble member Hans Fleischmann returns to Mary-Arrchie for this re-imagining of Tennessee Williams’ classic memory play. Chicago musician Daniel Knox composes an original score. Daniel has performed with David Lynch, Jarvis Cocker, and at Robert Wilson’s Watermill Center with Rufus Wainwright.

Uncle Bob by Austin Pendleton

Uncle Bob lives in New York as an uproariously articulate hermit, separated from the wife to whom he is devoted and who is devoted to him. He is visited by his nephew, Josh, who is without a job, without a completed college education, and without any sense of a future, all of which he faces with a wit and nervy desperation that finds its only match in his Uncle Bob. A loving and funny, abrasive and profane battle ensues.

The Brig by Kenneth H. Brown

April 18th through May 26th 2013

The Brig was first staged in 1963 by The Living Theatre in New York. The Brig is a fundamentally important experimental piece based on Brown’s experience of 30 hellacious days in a military prison for Marines. This poignant staging will be unlike anything you’ve ever seen, it’s a brutal, physically engaging and relentless piece of theater that will resonate long after you leave the theatre.
