The Marriott Theatre will present the Chicagoland premiere of the Broadway Revival of GODSPELL, previewing June 4, opening June 11 and running through August 10 at 10 Marriott Drive, Lincolnshire, IL. GODSPELL was originally conceived and directed by John-Michael Tebelak, with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, composer of Wicked and Pippin. Director and Choreographer Matt Raftery delivers a fresh, organic, intimate production, literally "illustrating" the parables of the New Testament and bringing its lessons to life on the Marriott stage. The brilliant recent Broadway arrangements and orchestrations will be delivered under the Musical Direction of Ryan T. Nelson.
Overflowing with energy and a fantastic rock score, GODSPELL is a celebration of life. Classic hits such as "Day By Day," "Light of The World," "Turn Back, O Man" and "By My Side" are sure to raise spirits high and touch the hearts of audiences.
GODSPELL stars Brian Bohr as "Jesus" (Joseph in Joseph... at the Marriott Theatre and Paramount Theatre, Marriott Theatre's 9 to 5, Now and Forever) and Devin DeSantis as "Judas/John the Baptist" (Young Frankenstein at Drury Lane Theatre, Anyone Can Whistle with Patti LuPone at the Ravinia Festival, four years in the Radio City Christmas Spectacular). Also starring in the production will be Lillie Cummings, Elizabeth Lanza, Nate Lewellyn, Christine Mild, Eliza Palasz, Samantha Pauly, Zachary Piser and Tom Vendafreddo.
The GODSPELL production team is led by the Marriott Theatre's Lead Artistic Director Aaron Thielen. Set Design is by Tom Ryan, Costume Coordination by Erin Wuorenma, Lighting Design by Jesse Klug, Sound Design by Bob Gilmartin and Properties Design by Sally Weiss. The Marriott Theatre orchestra is conducted by Musical Supervisor Patti Garwood.
