The Marriott Theatre has completed casting for Andrew Lloyd Webber's smash hit EVITA. The show tells the story of the charismatic and glamorous first lady of Argentina, Eva Peron.
Hannah Corneau will star as Eva Peron, performing role at six shows a week, with Samantha Pauly filling in for the other two performances. The cast also features Austin Lesch as Che, Larry Adams as Juan Peron, David Schlumpf as Magaldi and Eliza Palasz as the Mistress, along with William Carlos Angulo, Lauren Blane, Brian Bohr, Brianna Borger, Jameson Cooper, Bobby Daye, Alana Grossman, Anne Gunn, George Keating, Lauren Kias, Josh Kohane, Kristina Larson-Hauk, Russell Mernagh, Christine Mild, Sayiga Eugene Peabody, James Rank, Todd Rhoades, Emily Rohm, Laura Savage and Jason Slattery. Alex Sanchez will direct and choreograph the production, with musical direction by Ryan T. Nelson.
EVITA is a musical with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice. It concentrates on the life of Argentine political leader Eva Perón, the second wife of Argentine president Juan Perón. The story follows Evita's early life, rise to power, charity work, and eventual death. The musical began as a rock opera concept album, and eventually led to a productions in London'sWest End in 1978. A year later it arrived on Broadway, where it was the first British musical to receive the Tony Award for Best Musical.
