The world premiere of MUSING opens at The Side Project (The Side Studio - 1520 W. Jarvis) April 23rd, 2009 through May 23rd, 2009.

What is your greatest wish and how much of yourself will you sacrifice to get it?
Norman Painter, an ace car salesman, asks himself this very question after he discovers a Muse named Olga living under his bed.
When Olga decides she wants something in return for nurturing Norman's flourishing career, things get nasty as she invades the confines of his home, work, and love life. Featuring Tympanic's trademark use of high energy storytelling, quirky sound design, and repulsive yet empathetic makeup effects, Musing is a true modern fable, a dark comedy that examines the severity of sacrifice in an age where everything can disappear at the drop of a hat.

Written and directed by Artistic Director Amy WhittenbergerFeaturing Evan Absher, Chloe Ditzel, Josh Harriss, Ariel Trocino, and Whitney Valencia.

Tympanic continues their popular viral marketing campaign that began with Gregor and the Squonk with www.whatisyourmuse.com.

The website shows us what inspires the inspired by interviewing the muses behind several famous artistic individuals, movements, and terminologies, including shadow puppetry, the word "whoo" and the lead singer of Nickelback.
This interactive site offers a hilarious, tongue-in-cheek view of the other side of inspiration while allowing our audiences to post their own muses. The Tympanic Theatre Company produces new, unsolicited work in a provocative style that redefines how space is used in modern theatre.

We believe in utilizing all aspects of the theatrical environment as soon as the audience arrives, including the lobby, stage, andthe audience itself. Through this technique, we aim to literally surround the audience with a theatrical experience that is fresh, energetic, and visceral.

Dedicated to new work, Tympanic's first three productions, Splintered Crosses The House of Weird Death, and Gregor and the Squonk featured twelve world premiere short plays and one full length from seven different playwrights, including Daniel Caffrey, McKenzie Gerber, Rob Matsushita, Joshua Mikel, Cameron Stuart, and Amy Whittenberger.
