MATILDA THE MUSICAL is The Highest Grossing Dolphin Show in the Organization's 80-Year History

The previous record was held by The 72nd Annual Dolphin Show, Shrek, which grossed $50,000.

February, 14, 2023 - The Dolphin Show at Northwestern University is proud to announce the five-performance engagement of Roald Dahl's MATILDA The Musical broke the gross ticket sales record, grossing over $61,000. MATILDA also sold out the 1000-seat Cahn Auditorium for its closing performance.

The previous record was held by The 72nd Annual Dolphin Show, Shrek, which grossed $50,000.

The producers, Arella Flur, Daniel Maton, and Rachel Schmaier, attribute this huge success to their team's efforts sharing, "It was a huge triumph to mount this production and its success is attributed to every single person on and off the stage; We're really excited that so many people were able to join us at the theatre to see the results of this team's hard work!"

"Especially as we came back from a pandemic and have been trying to get the organization back up on its feet, we are excited to see a bright future ahead" they continued.

The Dolphin Show at Northwestern University is a non-profit student theatre organization that annually produces the largest student-produced musical in the country. It celebrates the diverse talents of the Northwestern undergraduate community by providing opportunities to learn and excel in all artistic and administrative fields. The Dolphin Show presents a professional-caliber production, while involving the community through outreach.

The production team includes Arella Flur (Business Producer), Daniel Maton (Artistic Producer), Rachel Schmaier (Community Producer), Lucy Harrington (Director), Kristen Waagner (Choreographer), and Kevin Park (Music Director), Rachel Olkin (Production Manager), Via Greene (Production Stage Manager), Dani Goldberg (Circus Choreographer), Sylvia Hernández-DiStasi (Circus Consultant), Madie Doppelt (Assistant Circus Consultant), Annalise Biesterfeld (Costumes Designer), Hayley Chisholm (Sound Designer/Engineer), Daniel McGrath (Sound Designer/Sound Engineer), Haley Groth (Lighting Designer), Dugan Kenas-Mara (Props Designer), Grace Kulas (Scenic Designer), Nic Lam (Projections Designer), Zoë Snead (Technical Director), Juan Barrera-Lopez (Technical Director), and Alex Branka (Associate Technical Director/Lighting Designer).
