The McAninch Arts Center (MAC) has been selected to receive $10,000 in funding from National Endowment for the Arts (NEA)'s Arts Engagement in American Communities program. This program supports arts projects in all artistic disciplines in communities across the United States with the goal to engage the public in diverse and excellent art in geographic areas underrepresented in the NEA's grantmaking portfolio.

The funding is going to support a series of international performing artists featured in the MAC's 2018-2019 season ranging in discipline and culture including:

  • a dance company from Spain - Compania Flamenca Eduardo Guerrero: "Flamenco Passion," Oct. 21, 2 p.m.
  • a brass ensemble from Canada - Canadian Brass, Dec. 1, 4 & 8 p.m.,
  • a ballet company from Russia - Russian National Ballet's "Swan Lake," Jan. 13, 2 & 6 p.m.,
  • a fusion of music and dance highlighting Indian Bollywood film style - Bollywood Boulevard, Feb. 9, 7:30 p.m.; Feb. 10 2 p.m.,
  • musicians from Ireland - The High Kings, March 16, 8 p.m.

"The McAninch Arts Center is proud to receive a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts," said MAC Director Diana Martinez. "The purpose of featuring these International Artists is to bridge social, political and cultural divides through international performances to foster and inspire common-ground conversations in artistic spaces."

All events take place in the MAC's Belushi Performance Hall, located at 425 Fawell Blvd., on the campus of College of College of DuPage. For tickets or more information about these events call the MAC Box Office at 630.942.4000, or visit AtTheMAC.org.
