MAC Announces Season Celebration Party Around TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE

McAninch Arts Center (MAC), located at 425 Fawell Blvd., on the campus of College of DuPage opens its 2017-2018 Performance Series with the "Tuesdays with Morrie" starring Jamie Farr Saturday, Sept. 30 at 8 p.m. This is the exclusive Chicago area engagement of LPP Theatricals, LLC production of North American Tour of the two-man play, "Tuesdays With Morrie," based on the book by Mitch Albom, adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher, directed by Ron Ulrich and starring Jamie Farr with co-star David Keeley.

In conjunction with the performance, the MAC will host a 2017-2018 Season Kick-Off Celebration and Fundraiser to support the MAC. The party includes a 6 p.m. pre-show reception with cash bar, a silent auction, raffle and appetizers courtesy of the MAC's 2017-2018 dining partners Adelles, Carlucci Restaurant & Bar, Glen Prairie, Houlihan's, I Have a Bean, Parker's Restaurant and Bar, Reserve 22 and Weber's Grill Restaurant, plus beer tastings from Two Brothers Brewery. After the show, Kick-Off Celebration guests will have the chance to meet Farr at a post-show coffee and dessert reception catered by Nothing Bundt Cakes.

Farr is best known by many for playing Corporal Klinger on the hit TV show "M*A*S*H," having even directed several episodes. Farr's film credits include "The Greatest Story Ever Told" and "Cannonball Run" and "Cannonball Run II." Stage credits include "Will Rogers' Follies," "Catch Me If You Can," the national tour of "The Odd Couple" with "M*A*S*H" associate William Christopher, and the role of Nathan Detroit in the Broadway production of "Guys and Dolls." Honors include a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame (1985), an Emmy nomination for "M*A*S*H," an honorary Doctor of Performing Arts Degree from the University of Toledo (1983), The Ellis Island Medal of Honor, The Governor's Award of Ohio and the Special Recognition Award at the 2016 Kahlil Gibran Sprit of Humanity Dinner.


Tickets for the MAC's 2017-2018 Kick-Off Celebration and Fundraiser are $20.
