Lyric Opera is proud to present tenor Piotr Beczala, one of the most sought-after artists of our time, in an intimate recital at the Lyric Opera House on Sunday, February 25 at 3pm. He will be joined by renowned pianist Martin Katz. Tickets for Piotr Beczala in Recital start at $35 and are on sale now at lyricopera.org/beczala or by calling 312-827-5600.

The program will feature Beczala singing crowd-pleasing Italian art songs, as well as beloved music from his native Poland. He will perform works by Italian composers Ottorino Respighi, Stefano Donaudy, Ermanno Wolf-Ferrari, and Francesco Paolo Tosti, as well as Polish composers Stanislaw Moniuszko, Karol Szymanowski, and Mieczyslaw Karlowicz.

Beczala triumphed in both his Lyric debut in the title role of Faust(2009/10) and as Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor (2016/17). He was called "warm-voiced" by the Chicago Sun Times, with the Chicago Tribune declaring, "Beczala defines the meaning of Bel Canto - beautiful singing."

In addition to mainstage roles in some of the world's leading opera houses, he has thrilled audiences across the country with his recital performances, which were described by The San Diego Union-Tribuneas "an unqualified success...there was no stopping the free flow of glory notes." The New York Times called his voice "rich, virile, with appealingly dark undertow" and the Washington Classical Review said the audience "called loudly for encores."
