Light Opera Works Holds Benefit Gala, 3/20

On Sunday, March 20, 2011, Light Opera Works will host its annual gala at the North Shore Country Club in Glenview, Illinois. Proceeds from the event will benefit Light Opera Works programming, including the 2011 season, the Musical Theater Summer Workshop, student half-price tickets and Family Talk Backs.

The Light Opera Works Benefit Committee will host the gala. Members of the committee include Diane Blake (Wilmette), Jefferson C. Collins (Evanston), Kyle Dougan (Evanston), Fran Faller (Skokie), Bridget McDonough (Chicago), Katie Payton (Chicago), Pamela P. Rosenbusch (Evanston), Catherine Westphal (Glencoe) and Co-Chairs Joseph Greco, M.D. (Chicago) and Pamela T. Pettibone (Chicago).

A V.I.P. Champagne Reception with Stacey Flaster and special guest performers will be held before the event, hosted by Robert Douglas Sphatt and James Schneider of Chicago. Individuals purchasing tickets at the $235 level and higher are invited to this special reception.

The gala will begin at 5 pm with cocktails and a silent auction followed by dinner at 6 pm and a musical program directed by Light Opera Works Artistic Director Rudy Hogenmiller. The program will feature musical highlights from Light Opera Works' upcoming 2011 season.

A raffle will be held to win a $1000 cash. Raffle chances are 1 for $10, 3 for $25, 7 for $50 and 15 for $100.

Event sponsors include Footlights Magazine, Marcus Promotions, On Track Fulfillment Inc., Floral Design by Davenport Designs, with support from Martin and Sue Kozak, and Photography by Horizon Photography.

Light Opera Works is a regional professional theater in Evanston, Illinois, founded in 1980. The organization produces four shows a year with three at its Main Stage, a 1,000-seat theater and one at its more intimate 260-seat Second Stage.
