FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, the Tony Award-winning musical, will be presented by Light Opera Works at Cahn Auditorium in Evanston, August 9 through 24, in celebration of its 50th anniversary.
Tevye, a hardworking dairyman, is driven to hilarious distraction by his freethinking daughters and his equally headstrong wife. With the themes of family and faith, the musical weaves together a touching portrait of love, laughter, devotion and deviance.
Classics songs include "If I were a Rich Man," "Tradition," "Sunrise, Sunset" and "To Life."
FIDDLER ON THE ROOF is directed and choreographed by Light Opera Works artistic director Rudy Hogenmiller and conducted by music director Roger L. Bingaman.
The cast includes Alex Honzen (Tevye), Jenny Lamb (Golde), Yael Wartens (Tzeitel), Katelin Spencer (Hodel), Meredith Kochan (Chava) and Neil Stratman (Motel).
The design/production team includes Adam Veness (scenic), Jesus Perez and Jane DeBondt (costume), Sienna Kusek (hair and make-up), Andrew H. Meyers (lighting), Mike Ross (sound), Cassy Schillo (props), Tom Campbell (stage manager) and Katie Beeks (production manager).

FIDDLER ON THE ROOF is Light Opera Works' second production of 2014. The season will continue with the concert production COLE PORTER'S GREATEST HITS (October 3-12) and THE MERRY WIDOW (December 19-31).
