Shakespeare's outdoors is a place anything can happen, and in this comedy where just about everything does happen, love blossoms, fails, and becomes a twisted net of misconception. In Shakespeare's high- energy, fun-filled comedy, twins Viola and Sebastian lose and reclaim identities along with a host of characters that question our most basic concepts today, such as what is gender? Is it mutable? What is identity itself? What does sexual identity have to do with gender identity? All the while entertaining you in the way only Shakespeare, in a highly articulate setting, can do.
"Comedy is tragedy, plus time." - Carol Burnett. Leftend Productions is on a mission to find meaning through enjoyment. There is ridiculousness in truth, and truth in the ridiculous. Lose yourself in frivolity, go on the journey, leave with a smile, but in all that, we hope you find our work a balm, a reference, to your own struggles. We shall ever strive to bring to you shows that tickle your funny bone in a way that will also tickle your soul.
