Celebrate the first day of spring with three bands for the price of one at the first ever "Centerpalooza," Saturday, March 20 at 7 p.m. at The Center for Performing Arts at Governors State University.

Kicking off the evening is local Chicago band The Mojo Daddies. Next up is popular Bloomington, Ill.-based band Backyard Tire Fire, whose album "Good To Be" (produced by Steve Berlin of Los Lobos) will be released Feb. 16. With three Grammys under their belts and chart toppers like "Mariachi Suite," "Kiko and the Lavender Moon," "La Bamba/Charlena" and fan favorite "Good Morning Aztlán," Los Lobos are the evening's headliners and they're ready to rock The Center. Tickets are $25 - $56, available at centertickets.net or by calling (708) 235-2222. Los Lobos fans can requests songs for this show online at loslobos.org/popup-request.shtml by selecting "03/20/2010 - University Park, IL."

Throughout the past 36 years, the East Los Angeles five-piece Los Lobos [David Hidalgo (vocals, guitar, and pretty much anything with strings), Louie Perez (drums, vocals, guitar), Cesar Rosas (vocals, guitar), Conrad Lozano (bass, vocals, guitarrón) and Steve Berlin (saxophone)] has sold millions of records and assembled a body of work diverse enough to captivate fans worldwide. Along the way, they've redefined how a rock band, and rock music, can sound. Now, three decades later, Los Lobos still captivates audiences with thought-provoking lyrics and their unique blend of blues, rockabilly, jazz and Latin music. They've shared the stage with acts as varied as Bob Dylan, The Clash and U2. Los Lobos has also received tremendous critical acclaim, from their major label debut "How Will the Wolf Survive?" (Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time) to their most recent effort, 2009's "Los Lobos Goes Disney."

Backyard Tire Fire takes a break from their 50-city headlining tour to open for Los Lobos at Centerpalooza. Like their aromatic namesake, Backyard Tire Fire [Ed Anderson (vocals, guitar, keyboards, percussion), Matt Anderson (bass, vocals, percussion) and Tim Kramp (drums, percussion, marimba)] have grown from a smoldering, localized slow burn to an insistent, overriding funky presence that's spreading across the country. The band's fifth studio album, "Good To Be," spans the stylistic court with a rich, ever-expanding palette of aural rock ‘n' roll colors and textures that tap into bouncy, Kinks-meet-Squeeze Brit pop-rock, Tom Petty-styled Southern rock, Beatle-esque majesty, intimate balladry, chiming folk-rock and heartland/populist chest-pounders. Steve Berlin of Los Lobos calls Backyard Tire Fire "one of America's best young bands."

The Mojo Daddies [Jim Campbell (drums), Craig James (guitar, vocals), Mike Dikelsky (guitar, vocals) and Rob Twardock (guitar, vocals)] is a local band based in Lake County, Ill. that plays a mix of covers and original songs from rock to blues to pop. The band has been featured in a number of Chicago area fundraisers such as Avon Walk, Holy Cross Lutheran Church Youth Group and Feed My Starving Children. The Mojo Daddies released an album of original material, "Back to Champaign" in Oct. 2009.
