"Loose Chicks" will be at Emerald City Coffee, 3938 N Sheridan Ave, in November! Roberta Miles and Jillian Erickson, the "Loose Chicks" will be starring in and presenting an hour long performance based on their experiences through life. Guest Chicks Melissa Du'Prey, Janna Sobel, & Tamalel will be featured this month. This juicy, gutsy, ballsy, cutting edge look at life through the eyes of three femme fatales will be presented at Emerald City Coffee. The performance is tonight, November 22nd @ 8pm. There is a suggested donation.
Roberta Miles, best known to Chicago audiences as a jazz singer and painter, has rapidly gained a reputation for her irreverent autobiographical monologues that make up a tell-all expose of her quirky, edgy life. These monologues are the basis for her one-woman show, which debuted summer, 2009 at the StrawDog Theatre. Roberta has appeared with Jason
Paul Smith at the Skokie Theatre Foundation in Skokie, Illinois in a two person show called "Hot Dish: The Monologues." She is also the co-producer of "Café Cabaret" which runs monthly at "Café Ballou" in Chicago. Roberta is an award winning monologuist and a published poet, soon to be a published author.
Jillian Erickson is a performance artist, monologist, poet, writer, pain in the ass...She moved to Chicago to do exactly what she is doing and couldn't be giddier. She is the successful co-producer, co-director, and performer for the all female cabaret BEAST WOMEN 2013. Beast Women recently celebrated its 163rd performance at The GreenHouse Theater in Chicago. She is also part of the film company, JAkT Films, and a series called "Myths" which is a combination of paint, sculpture, and spoken word.
Tamale moved to Chicago and went through I.O. Chicago, Second City's Conservatory Program, and Annoyance Theater. She was up to her neck in comedy and was loving every minute. Trouble was, there were all these other fun things to do and explore that kept catching her eye. After exploring many different forms of the arts, Tamale decided that it was time for a show... a comedy show that showcased all these interests and the amazing people she loves to play with, so she began producing Brass Chuckles.
Gandlyn Ross is a Westside Chicagoan has been part of the Chicago entertainment industry for 10+ years now. Aside from acting on stage and in film she is also a US Navy Reservist. Gandlyn honed her acting skills at
Victory Gardens Theater, Act One, & Chicago Actors Studio as well as Sound Advice. Aside from acting she also does volunteer work with children for The Dect
Ric Young Foundation. Keep your eyes on and ears open for Gandlyn because she is definitely fun and the one to watch.
Jill Howe lives to tell and loves to listen. She has studied gloriously depressing classic literature at University of Illinois, taught CPS high schoolers Shakespeare against their will, reads a lot of "Are You My Mother?" to kids at 826 Chicago as a volunteer tutor, and facilitates fellow word-lovers monthly in sharing their latest and bravest. She has had story panic attacks before reading at Story Lab, Lady Tales, Vocalo radio for Stories + Music,
Arlene Malinowski's Speak Easy-Speak Hard, That's All She Wrote, Reading Under the Influence, Mortified, Chicago Solo Theatre, Ignite Chicago at the 1871 tech lab, Essay Fiesta, and Story Club Bridgeport.
