The Kompute Musik artist collective presents Hi-Fi, a techno and dubstep showcase featuring Los Angeles producer Drumcell and Montreal's DJ Mini headlining the techno stage, and Charlotte producer Dan Wall making his debut Chicago appearance for the FurtherSound dubstep stage. The Abbey Pub hosts the two room event Friday, February 4th, doors open at 9 pm and the show is 21+.

With over 10 years of experience, the Chicago-based Kompute Musik artist collective continue to promote electronic music in new venues. The Abbey Pub's multiple rooms offer a unique opportunity to highlight the divergent sounds of the dance underground. National Public Radio recently featured dubstep as a 2010 hot music trend* while techno's popularity continues to displace trance as the go- to club sound. With pop music's current infatuation with hip hop and dance music cross-pollination, the Kompute collective resolutely represent the underground, offering mainstream audiences the opportunity to witness first hand the sound of dance music unfiltered; the sounds that radio pop look for inspiration and co-option.

Headlining Room 1 is Drumcell, the founder of Droid Recordings and co-founder of Droid Behavior. Since the mid Nineties Drumcell has been a firm believer in the power of techno and over the past decade become one of Southern California's greatest champions. As a graduate of the Musician's Institute, a veteran performer at parties, and longtime recording engineer, Drumcell harnesses a strong musical background with a gifted sense of technological intuition. The delicate balance keeps him pushing the limits of his gear continually as a way to develop his artistic expression. In the past five years, he's played alongside nearly every major DJ in the genre and on main stages at prestigious festivals like Movement in Detroit and the world renowned techno club Berghain in Berlin.

Montreal's Evelyne Drouin aka DJ Mini will be making her Chicago debut in the main room. DJ Mini's punk approach to her techno-electro hybrid sound is revealed by the cross section of electro and synthpop tracks, past, present and future found in her playlists. Her 'Audio Hygiene' album created big waves, even reaching out to Quebec's usually electro-free mainstream media. She has filled Montreal's Parking nightclub every Thursday for the past seven years with the

help of many famous guests as the curator and resident DJ of the legendary Overdose parties.

Rounding out the main room is Dark Wave Disco's resident DJ, Trancid (darkwavedisco.com), Milwaukee's Brian Small (12inchplayers.com), Danny Livewire of Kompute (HiFiHearts.com) and a special guest, to be announced.

The FurtherSound Dubstep room features up and coming regional and national proponents of the U.S. Dubstep sound; Dan Wall of Charlotte, NC, Jeekoos of WNUR 89.3, DJ Solo, Brandon S., Kabz, Subnoxious and MC Anti. To add to the total sensory experience, Rayalin3 will be providing the visual stimulation all night long.
