Twenty-four theater companies in the St. Louis area received 118 nominations in 22 different categories for the 3rd annual Kevin Kline Awards. Forty-five different productions received nominations; twenty-five productions received multiple nominations the Awards Ceremony will be held on March 31 at the Loretto-Hilton Center
Twenty-four St. Louis theater companies are represented in the nominations for the third annual Kevin Kline Awards. Forty-five plays and musicals produced in the St. Louis area during 2007 now share 118 nominations in 22 different categories for the coveted award. The nominations were announced on KWMU-FM's "Cityscape" on January 25. The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis received the most nominations, 24, divided among eight different productions that were presented on its mainstage, and in both the Studio and Off-Ramp series. Stages St. Louis was the second-highest recipient, with 22 nominations. The Muny was the third theater to receive double-digit nominations, with 14. Stages St. Louis' production of the musical The Full Monty received the most nominations (10), followed by seven nominations each for Les Miserables at the Muny and Altar Boyz, which was produced by the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis as part of its Off-Ramp series. The highest non-musical vote-getter was Remnant, the debut offering by St. Louis' new Mustard Seed Theatre. Remnant received six nominations. Eighty-four actors, directors, choreographers, playwrights and designers, along with an additional 11 acting ensembles, received nominations.
