In celebration and exploration of the wonderful art of cabaret singing, vocalists from both cities will meet in Paris for the first Chicago Paris Cabaret Connexion, September 15 to 17, 2017.

A delegation of a dozen cabaret singers, led by Hommel, Doyle and Victoria will travel to Paris for the three-day conference. A limited number of spots are available for singers and auditors to join the group.

They'll be met in Paris by grande dame of cabaret Marie-Thérèse Orain, pianist Jean-Claude Orfali of the storied Montmartre cabaret Au Lapin Agile, author-historian Michel Trihoreau, editor and singer Christian Stalla, actor-singers Mylène Launay and Nathalie Joly, among many other cabaret artists.

The project is endorsed by the Paris Committee of Chicago Sister Cities International.

An unforgettable international cabaret weekend -for singers, auditors and fans

Highlights of the Paris conference in September include:
• Master classes taught by leading cabaret practitioners
• Opportunities for French and US singers to perform together on stage
• Presentations by leading French authors and academics on cabaret history
• A presentation on the history of Black chanteuses in Paris
• Attending iconic Parisian venues including the Lapin Agile
• Round table discussions on the future of cabaret, networking, building audiences, promotion and development of venues
• Pre-conference options: a private dinner-cruise on the Seine, a visit to Giverny, open mic at the Café Universel, the Musée d'Orsay....
