Tony, Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning actor John Lithgow offers a touching and humorous reflection on storytelling as the tie that binds humanity when he performs the Chicago area debut of his critically-acclaimed one-man show, "Stories by Heart" at the ECC Arts Center, located in Building H on the Elgin Community College Campus, 1700 Spartan Drive Saturday, Nov. 2 at 7:30 p.m.; and at the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in Skokie, 9501 Skokie Blvd., Sunday, Nov. 3 at 2 p.m.
Hailed as "Bravura storytelling" by Variety, Lithgow's "Stories by Heart" is a one-man theatrical memoire that offers a touching and humorous reflection on storytelling as the tie that binds humanity. Invoking memories of his grandmother and father before him, Lithgow traces his roots as an actor and storyteller, interspersing his own story with two great stories that were read to him and his siblings when they were children: "Uncle Fred Flits By" by legendary English humorist P. G. Wodehouse and "Haircut" by American sportswriter and playwright Ring Lardner.Videos
