Join Route 66 Theatre Company on Monday, February 22 at 7:30 pm at Mrs. Murphy and Sons Irish Bistro (3905 N. Lincoln Ave - upstairs) for HOW TO BUILD A CITY by Jeff Talbott, directed by Henry Godinez and featuring Justin Brill, Jennifer Coombs, Eric Lynch, and Steve Stafford. FREE! (but buying a drink is strongly encouraged -- the bar will be open!)

It's the middle of the night, and Davis has something on his mind. Months ago, he agreed to let his Alzheimer's-afflicted father move in with him when his mom couldn't do it anymore. But it's proving to be a tougher job than he expected, and his boyfriend is starting to lose long-held patience with the situation. How to Build a City is a serious comedy about the family we have and the family we make, and how to recognize they're exactly the same thing.

Jeff Talbott (pictured above) is a writer and actor who lives in New York City. Jeff wrote THE SUBMISSION, which won the inaugural Laurents/Hatcher Award for Best New American Play in 2011 and the NY Outer Critics Circle John Gassner Award for Outstanding New American Play in 2012. It premiered off-Broadway at MCC Theater and has since been performed all over the country. Jeff writes musicals with Will Van Dyke. As an actor, Jeff has appeared on Broadway, off-Broadway and in theatres across the country, as well as in film and television. He was trained at the Yale School of Drama, and has lived in NYC for almost 20 years. He has been in hundreds of plays and spent a fair amount of time being everything from a sad crime victim to a judge on many television shows.

Route 66 Theatre Company introduces, develops, produces, and exports new work for the stage that embraces the American spirit of exploration and risk. The Road Begins with its new play development process and reaches west, where our World and Chicago Premiere shows are given an advocate for further regional productions along the road less traveled from Chicago to Los Angeles. Since the company's founding, Route 66 has produced eight productions, including an Off-Broadway New York premiere, been nominated for ten Jeff Awards and won two. 2015 is Route 66's second full season of new work as a resident company of the Greenhouse Theater Center.
