One of the most hotly anticipated new musicals from Broadway, 9 to 5, The Musical comes to the Marriott Theatre, 10 Marriott Drive in Lincolnshire, beginning August 14, opening August 21 and running through October 13. Based on the smash 1980 film, 9 to 5, The Musical is the hilarious story of friendship and revenge in the rolodex era. The musical features the blockbuster title song plus a jubilant Tony Award-nominated score by multi Grammy Award-winner Dolly Parton and a book by original screenwriter Patricia Resnick, The Marriott Theatre production will be directed by 11 time Jeff Award-winner David H. Bell with choreography by Matt Raftery.

When three unlikely friends take control of the office and put their "sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot" of a boss in his place, they learn there is nothing they can't do, even in a man's world. The original 9 to 5 film, which starred Dolly Parton, Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, is the 20th highest grossing comedy movie of all time and has been named to the American Film Institute's list of "100 Funniest Movies". Dolly Parton's title song, "9 to 5," received two Grammy Awards, an Academy Award nomination and was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Artists of America.

Starring in 9 to 5, The Musical is Jeff Award-winner Kelli Cramer as "Violet Newstead" (Marriott Theatre: PUMP BOYS AND DINETTES, NUNSENSE, DO BLACK PATENT LEATHER SHOES REALLY REFLECT UP?, THE BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE IN TEXAS, THE NEW YORKERS, HEARTBEATS; Drury Lane Theatre: ANNIE GET YOUR GUN), Jeff Award-winner Susan Moniz as "Judy Bernly" (The Marriott Theatre's World Premiere production of NOW AND FOREVER, CAROUSEL, SHOWBOAT, WEST SIDE STORY, KING AND I, KISMET, PEGGY SUE GOT MARRIED, SWING, INTO THE WOODS, Chicago Shakespeare's FOLLIES and "Sandy" and "Rizzo" in Broadway's GREASE),Alexandra Palkovic as "Doralee Rhodes" (Marriott Theatre: SOUTH PACIFIC, LEGALLY BLONDE, THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE; Drury Lane Theatre: SINGIN' IN THE RAIN), and James Moye as "Franklin Hart, Jr." (Broadway/Off-Broadway: MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, RAGTIME, A TALE OF TWO CITIES, THE FULL MONTY, URINETOWN, FAR FROM HEAVEN, HAPPINESS).

The cast of 9 to 5, The Musical also includes Marya Grandy as "Roz Keith", Ben Jacoby as "Joe" and Roger Anderson as "Tinsworthy". With Brian Bohr, Robin Alexis Childress, Bryan Howard Conner, Devin DeSantis, Jerry Galante, Ericka Mac, Christine Mild, Natalie Myre, Laura Savage, Holly Stauder, Richard Strimer, Stef Tovar, J. Tyler Whitmer, Brandi Wooten and Melissa Zaremba.

Lead Artistic Director Aaron Thielen heads the Artistic Team for 9 to 5, The Musical with Music Direction by Ryan T. Nelson. The design team includes Set Design by Tom Ryan, Costume Design by Nancy Missimi, Lighting Design by Jesse Klug, Sound Design by Bob Gilmartin and Props Design by Sally Weiss. Patti Garwood conducts the Marriott Theatre Orchestra.

The performance schedule is Wednesdays at 1:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays at 8:00 p.m., Saturdays at 4:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., and Sundays at 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Ticket prices range from $40 to $48, excluding tax and handling fees. Students 17 and under and senior citizen 62 and older receive $5.00 off a full price theatre ticket for Wednesday Matinee, Saturday Matinee, Sunday Matinee and Sunday Afternoon performances. On Wednesday and Thursday evenings a limited number of Dinner and Theatre tickets are available for only $55.00 per person.
