Jackalope Theatre Company Announces Full Cast and Production Team for IDEATION

Jackalope's 9th season continues with the Midwest premiere of Ideation, written byAaron Loeb, directed by Gus Menary*, with the full cast and production team announced below.

Ideation runs May 10 - June 17, 2017 at, Broadway Armory Park, 5917 N Broadway in Chicago. Tickets are $5 - $25, and are on sale now via www.jackalopetheatre.org.

Aaron Loeb brings a dark comic edge to this psychological suspense thriller, in which a group of corporate consultants work together on a mysterious and ethically ambiguous project. As the lines between right and wrong are blurred, these characters must navigate the cognitive dissonances and moral dilemmas to decide for themselves if everything is as it really seems.

The cast for Ideation features Rachel Sullivan (Hannah), Kaiser Ahmed* (Sandeep), Japhet Balaban (Brock), Michael Kingston (Ted), and Henry Greenberg (Scooter).

The production team for Ideation includes: Corinne Bass* (scenic designer), Sarah Jo White (costume designer),Slick Jorgensen (lighting designer), Lacie Hexom (props designer), Steve LaBedz (sound designer), Sabina Dzelilovic (dramaturg), Sasha Smith (fight choreographer), Nora Leahy (asst. scenic designer), Alon Stotter (asst. lighting designer), Warren Wernick (technical director), Claire Sangster* (master electrician), Emma Couling(assistant director), Danielle Stack (production manager), and Colleen Layton (stage manager). * denotes Jackalope company member

Aaron Loeb (playwright) is a San Francisco Bay Area playwright whose work has been performed around the country. His full-length plays include The Proud, Alcestis (Doesn't Live Here Anymore), Brown, First Person Shooter, Blastosphere (with Geetha Reddy), and Abraham Lincoln's Big, Gay Dance Party, which had its Off-Broadway premiere in 2010. Among the honors Loeb has received are: two Bay Area Theater Critic Circle Awards for Best New Play (First Person Shooter in '07, ALBGDP in '08), Outstanding Play from the New York International Fringe Festival (ALBGDP '09), GLAAD Media Award Nominee (ALBGDP '09), and seven "Emerging Playwright Awards" from PlayGround. He is a member of the Dramatists Guild, Inc and a Playwrights Foundation resident playwright.

Gus Menary* (director) is the Artistic Director and a founding member of Jackalope Theatre Company. For Jackalope, he directed the world premieres of Ike Holter's Exit Strategy (Jeff Nomination - Best Director, Best Ensemble) and Andrew Swanson's Lunacy!, among others. He was named one the Fifty People Who Really Perform for Chicago by Newcity Magazine in both 2016 and 2017. He is a founding member of The Inconvenience, where he served as Director of Theatre Programming. He has worked and directed for many theatre companies in Chicago including A Red Orchid, Mary-Arrchie, American Theatre Company, Abraham Werewolf, Strawdog Theatre Company, First Floor, Pinebox, The New Colony, American Blues, and LiveWire Chicago.
