Due to popular demand, 4 Days Late's original production, JERSEY SHORE: THE MUSICAL announces they will be extending performances thru December, 3, 2011 at Studio BE (3110 N. Sheffield Ave.). Performances are every Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Tickets start at $18 and can be purchased online at http://www.studio-be.org/jersey-shore-the-musical or at the door.
JERSEY SHORE: THE MUSICAL opened in Chicago to wide critical acclaim July 22, 2011. Time Out Chicago says the show is, "FUNNY & CATCHY" and Center Stage Chicago says JERSEY SHORE: THE MUSICAL is, "A FUN, ENGROSSING EXPERIENCE."
JERSEY SHORE: THE MUSICAL, by Chicago-favorite sketch comedy company 4 Days Late, re-imagines the pop culture phenomenon through a hilariously irreverent original score and wicked hilarious tone. Watch your favorite Jersey "celebrities" and their drunk, desperate and dramatic lifestyle, skewered on stage. Satirically, JERSEY SHORE: THE MUSICAL asks the question, "What fuels the reality television phenomenon?" Love it or hate it, we all play a part and can't stop watching.
"Jersey Shore is a love it or hate it kind of show that stirs up strong emotions on both sides of the coin. That's what we've tried to capture in JERSEY SHORE: THE MUSICAL; there's something for everyone," explains 4 Days Late's Artistic Director Erin Lane. "Also, we love to watch people humiliated and in pain. Is Jersey Shore America's Roman Coliseum? I think there's an argument there."
JERSEY SHORE: THE MUSICAL features music by Matt Griffo, Alex Myerchin and Jason Lord with lyrics by Matt Griffo, Alex Myerchin, Gabe Caruso, Jason Lord and Erin Lane; and is directed Jason Lord and Alex Myerchin, choreographed by John Gilmour; costume design by Emily Friedrick, make up design by Maggie Mietus and lighting design by Eric Branson. JERSEY SHORE: THE MUSICAL features Dan Gold, Tony Jaksha, Erin Johnson, Maggie Mietus, Alex Myerchin, Anna Schlegel, Kelly Spohrer, Nate Stoner, Steve Truncale and Caitlin Westlake with ensemble members Julie Beck, Emily Friedrick, Antjuan Ingram and Alex Pass.
