International Piano Competition Winners To Perform  Image

The American Liszt Society Chicago/Midwest Chapter will celebrate Franz Liszt's 207th birthday by featuring International Liszt Competition winners Joseph Kingma, Chen-Shen Fan, and young rising star, Yerin Yang, performing piano works of Franz Liszt. This 8th annual event will take place on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 7:30 pm, Nichols Concert Hall, 1490 Chicago Ave., Evanston, IL.

Pianist Joseph Kingma has won awards in numerous international competitions, including First Prize in both the American Liszt Society's 2017 Franz Liszt International Piano Competition and the Monroe Symphony League's Marjorie Stricken Emerging Artists Competition. Pianist Chen-Shen Fan, Second Prize Winner of the American Liszt Society's 2017 Franz Liszt International Piano Competition, in addition to the Best Liszt Interpretation Award, also received the Outstanding Performance of Bach Award by the Metropolitan International Piano Competition. Pianist Yerin Yang was awarded First Prize, Best Performance of Solo Work Award, and the Young Jury Award at the 2018 Arthur Fraser International Piano Competition. In March 2018, Yerin was named winner of the 2018 Chicago Symphony Orchestra Young Artists Competition. With this achievement, she will perform with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra during the 2018/19 season.
