Music Theater Works (formerly Light Opera Works) presents INTO THE WOODS with full original orchestrations at Cahn Auditorium in Evanston, December 22 through 31, 2018.
The witty and wise adventure intertwines plots of iconic Brothers Grimm fairy tales, exploring the consequences of the characters' wishes and quests. The Tony Award-winning score includes "Giants in the Sky," "Children Will Listen" and "No One Is Alone."
INTO THE WOODS is directed by Music Theater Works artistic director Rudy Hogenmiller, conducted by Roger L. Bingaman and choreographed by Clayton Cross.
The cast includes James Harms (Narrator/Mysterious Man), Daniel Tatar (Baker), Alexis Armstrong (Baker's Wife), Michelle Jasso (Witch), Kelly Britt (Cinderella), Cecelia Iole (Little Red Ridinghood) and Christopher Ratliff (Jack).
The design/production team is Christopher Rhoton (scenic), Jane DeBondt and Jesus Perez (costumes), Andrew H. Meyers (lighting), Aaron Quick (sound), Alice Salazar (hair and make-up) Jamie Daras (properties), Mary Zanger (stage manager) and Jim Davis (production manager).
The opening night reception is catered by Koi, with additional support from Lagunitas Brewing Company and Binny's Beverage Depot.
INTO THE WOODS is Music Theater Works' final production of 2018. The 2019 season will feature HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING (June 8-16), THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME (August 17-25) the concert performance LERNER AND LOEWE'S GREATEST HITS (October 4-13) and JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT (December 21-31)
