House Theatre of Chicago Presents CYRANO, 8/25-9/3

The House Theatre of Chicago opens its 10th Anniversary Season with Cyrano, an original adaptation of Edward Rostand's Cyrano de Bergerac, adapted and directed by House Company Member Matt Hawkins.

Cyrano is the quintessential Renaissance Man. A natural leader, courageous soldier, brilliant swordsman, skilled musician and a master of language, our hero fails only in love.

Hawkins' Cyrano pulls the audience into a wild love triangle as Cyrano pursues Roxanne through music, poetry and the most spectacular sword fighting ever to hit The House stage.

With original music by Kevin O'Donnell (lyrics by Matt Hawkins and Shawn Pfautsch), set by Collette Pollard, lights by Lee Keenan, and sound by Michael Griggs, Cyrano is The House at its best, giving Chicago a fresh look at a classic story told with enormous heart and packed with amazing feats of storytelling.
