Hell in a Handbag Productions is proud to announce the 2008-2009 Season

Hell in a Handbag Productions, Chicago's only theater company dedicated to the exploration and preservation of popular culture, parody and camp, now celebrating our sixth year of camptastic theater, is as giddy as a school girl to announce their official 2008-2009 season.

We start off the season with murder and mayhem under the big top! The Midwest premiere of HAYWIRE!, written by Kevin Remington and Tim Wilkins is a big splashy horror parody circus melodrama. Artistic Director David Cerda stars as Miranda Towers, a woman with sawdust in her veins and a passion no man can resist. Miranda returns from the insane asylum after a series of unfortunate events to find her circus in shambles. Then the murders begin. Coincidence?

Next up is another Midwest premiere - a twisted take on two twisted classics with an unforgettable title- Silent Night of the Lambs by the twisted mind of Ryan Landry of the Boston, MA Gold Dust Orphans Theater Company.

Rudolph's daughter Clarice is all grown-up. She's an FBI agent on the biggest case of her life. To enter the mind of a serial killer she must challenge the mind of a madman- fat, jolly, bowl-full of jelly madman. Can she find The Skinner before he kills again without losing her sanity?

Rounding off our season is the show that put Hell in a Handbag Productions on the map. The mother of all disaster films set to music. POSEIDON! An Upside Down Musical with book and lyrics by David Cerda and music by David Cerda and Scott Lamberty with arrangements by Jon Steinhagen. Join the passengers, crew and hardcore 'Poseidonites' (Poseidon Adventure fans) on New Years Eve and celebrate the indomitable human spirit.

Based on the classic 1972 disaster film, The Poseidon Adventure, POSEIDON! features many of the original cast members from the 2002 production, new songs and lots and lots of dancing water sprites.
