Music
MusicNOW features African composer and instrument builder Victor Gama’s unique musical voice in a work fusing beautiful homemade instruments and imaginative digital projections, and more on March 5.
Recognized throughout the world for their momentous performances, the Morehouse College Glee Club celebrates its 100thAnniversary, and makes its Harris debut on March 6.
Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center continues its Harris Theater Residency on March 20 with Masters of the Keyboard featuring internationally-renowned pianists Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, Anne-Marie McDermott, André-Michel Schub, and Wu Han performing Gershwin’s An American in Paris for Two Pianos and more.
On March 26, Music of the Baroque’s Chorus and Orchestra present Mirth and Melancholy – Handel’s L’Allegro, one of Handel’s most imaginative works.
Fulcrum Point New Music Project presents Music and Poetry from Harvard, March 28, highlighting the works of the most brilliant and inspired composers from Harvard—Pulitzer Prize winner Paul Moravec, Grawemeyer Prize winner Peter Lieberson, and Randall Woolf.
The Chicago Chamber Musicians present The Magic of Three: Paquito D’Rivera, Gabriela Lena Frank, and CCM, onMarch 29—a personal musical tour of South America and Latin sounds with Paquito D’Rivera and Gabriela Lena Frank serving first as composers, second as performers, and third as charismatic, captivating hosts.

Thodos Dance Chicago returns to the Harris, March 2-3, to celebrate its 20th anniversary, performing “The White City: Chicago’s Columbian Exposition of 1893,” the smash hit collaboration between Tony award-winning Ann Reinking and Artistic Director Melissa Thodos.
Hubbard Street Dance Chicago presents its Spring Series: King, Cerrudo, Eyal, March 15-18, featuring the 10th new work in just four years by Hubbard Street Resident Choreographer Alejandro Cerrudo, and more.
The next generation of brilliant dancers, actors, vocalists, and jazz musicians from ChiArts, Chicago’s “own version of Fame”(WBEZ), return to the Harris stage as part of the Theater’s Eat to the Beat $5 lunchtime series on March 22.
On March 24, Luna Negra Dance Theater presents the world premiere of CARMEN.maquia, artistic Director Gustavo Ramírez Sansano’s Picasso-inspired, contemporary take on Bizet’s beloved Carmen.
