HAMILTON Exhibition Opens Apr. 27 In Chicago; Tickets On Sale Feb. 15 Image

The world-premiere of HAMILTON: THE EXHIBITION, scheduled to debut in Chicago on Northerly Island (1535 S. Linn White Drive) this spring, has announced a new opening with its first public admissions now set for April 27.

According to Producer Jeffrey Seller, this revised opening date -three weeks later than the previously scheduled April 6 opening - results from unexpected delays in shipping, customs and the recent extreme weather conditions in Chicago. Tickets to HAMILTON: THE EXHIBITION will go on sale to the general public as previously announced at 10AM on Friday, February 15. HAMILTON: THE EXHIBITION will remain in Chicago for a limited engagement through September 8, 2019 prior to traveling to other U.S. cities.

Hamilton: The Exhibition is a 360-degree, immersive exhibit housed in a free-standing temporary building on Northerly Island. Hamilton: The Exhibition takes visitors deeper into the life and times of Alexander Hamilton, while at the same time chronicling the American Revolution and the creation of the United States of America. From the post in St. Croix where teenager Alexander became an indispensable trader, to the hilltop in Weehawken, NJ where Burr fatally shot Hamilton in their infamous duel, Hamilton: The Exhibition seeks to elucidate the powerful experience of building our country and shaping our Democracy.

With Lin-Manuel Miranda as the audio guide, visitors will learn that our Democracy was not inevitable but the result of the hard work of many men and women who took enormous risks to build our country through thought, action and collaboration.

Mr. Seller states, "In the weeks leading up to our early April opening, we have been challenged by a polar vortex, some delays at Customs, and other unforeseen obstacles. All frustrating, but all solvable. HAMILTON: THE EXHIBITION is taking shape on Northerly Island as we speak, and we can't wait to welcome our first visitors in late April."

In an effort to engage with as many people as possible, and to bring as many students into the exhibit as possible, Hamilton: The Exhibition is offering free admission to all Chicago Public School students in grades four and higher.

Hamilton: The Exhibition is a collaboration between Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, director Thomas Kail, creative director and set designer David Korins, producer Jeffrey Seller, orchestrator Alex Lacamoire, and Yale University historian Joanne Freeman. Harvard Law Professor and historian Annette Gordon-Reed is also providing historical consultation. IMG is the project manager for the exhibition.

IMG's exhibitions team organizes and produces world-class experiences that have captivated more than 30 million visitors at the finest art, science and history museums worldwide. Its principals have been entrusted with priceless world treasures from land and sea, including relics from Cleopatra's Royal Palace and Pompeii, Princess Diana's Royal Wedding Gown, and the only authenticated pirate treasure in the world. Its new blockbuster King Tut: Treasures of the Golden Pharaoh, the largest exhibition of artifacts from the pharaoh's tomb ever to leave Egypt, recently debuted in Los Angeles.

The timed entry tickets are $39.50 for adults, $32.50 for senior/military and $25 for youth ages 4-14. For groups of 10 or more, contact Broadway In Chicago at 312-977-1710 or BICgroups.com.
