When October rolls around, our minds are on a one set track for pretty leaves falling, all things pumpkin, and of course... HALLOWEEN!

If you are looking to spend your spook-filled holiday visiting a haunted house for the umpteenth time or sitting on your couch watching re-runs of Hocus Pocus and Michael Myer's Halloween eating candy corn, it is time to switch it up!

From grown-up trick-or-treating to a haunted mansion theatre performance, Chicago has rounded out the best Halloween events for you to attend this year.


TRICK- OR- TREAT GROWN-UP STYLE

The only thing better than Halloween candy is... yup, you guessed it - Halloween candy with a side of beer! From Friday, October 27th to Tuesday, October 31st, State and Lake Chicago Tavern, 201 N. State Street, is putting a grown-up twist on the typical Trick- or- Treating with their special Halloween Beer & Candy Pairing Flights: Witches Brews and Goblin Treats. The Halloween heroes at State and Lake are pairing sugary favorites with their perfect alcoholic counterpart, and creating delectable flights that include:

- Pipeworks Ninja vs. Unicorn and Gummy Sour Worms

- Dovetail Hefeweizen and orange Jelly Bellys

- Around the Bend Puffing Billy and pretzel, milk chocolate and peanut butter clusters

- 3 Sheep Cashmere Hammer Nitro Stout and dark chocolate covered almonds

PARTY 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA AND 27 STORIES ABOVE THE CITY

ROOF on theWit, 201 N. State Street, will transform into a mystic world, home to the most peculiar and mesmerizing Creatures of the Sea on Saturday, October 28th to create the Halloween party of a lifetime. This event will feature six signature themed cocktails hand-crafted by ROOF's expert mixologist including "Swimming with Sharks," "The Marina Trench," and "Coral Reef." In addition to this, guests will be treated to a seafood fare with items such as "Abyss Paella", a Fresh Scallop and Crab Cake, and a signature Octopus dish. Those attending will have the chance to enter an Instagram Halloween Contest for an incredible prize (a one night stay at theWit and two tickets to ROOF's New Years Eve Party). ENJOY ALL THINGS SPOOKY WITH A VIEW, COCKTAILS, AND LIGHT BITES

Raised, An Urban Rooftop Bar, 1 W. Wacker Drive, is inviting Chicagoans to "Raise the Dead" at their Halloween event on Saturday, October 28th. Doors will open at 2pm, with live entertainment beginning at 9pm and lasting until midnight. The party, which is open to the public, will feature a special menu with delicious cocktails and tasty bites. For those who really get into the spirit, there will also be a costume contest from 10pm to 10:30pm in which the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will receive prizes. GO UNDERCOVER FOR A SPYCIAL GHOULISH BASH

SafeHouse Chicago, 60 East Ontario, will be hosting its first-ever Halloween bash on Saturday, October 28th from 10 pm. to 3 am. Those who venture beneath the Chicago streets to the covert location will be treated to an over-the-top costume contest, with cash prizes in different categories, a hosted cocktail upon entry, and a DJ, flanked by dancers, who will be spinning ghoulish classics all night long. After paying an $8 cover, partygoers will be granted exclusive entry and given one drink ticket, good for a draft beer, house wine, or a rail cocktail. VISIT A HAUNTED MANSION FOR AN EERIE PERFORMANCE

A tale like none other, THE MAN-BEAST gives audiences the chance to fall back in time and experience the history and horror of French monsters and fear in a timely production perfect for the crisp, shadowed nights of a Midwestern fall.THE MAN-BEAST runs through November 5, 2017.
