WJJG Radio host Kevin Moore brings his successful Great American Songbook concert series to Arlington Heights' Metropolis with a tribute to one of America's most prolific composers: Irving Berlin.
Kevin Moore Presents Score-by-Score: An Evening of
Irving Berlinfeatures some of Chicago's top musical talent that have graced stages throughout the world including
Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and Town Hall in New York, performing music and memories of the Oscar, Tony and Grammy Award winning composer. This must see event takes place on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at 7:30 P.M at the Metropolis Performing Arts Centre, 111 West Campbell Street in downtown Arlington Heights. Irving Berlinis widely considered one of America's greatest songwriters. During his 60-year career he wrote an estimated 1,500 songs, including 25 #1 hits, the scores for 19 Broadway shows (Annie Get Your Gun & Call Me Madam) and 18 Hollywood films (Easter Parade, White Christmas & Holiday Inn). Nominated eight times for an Academy Award, many of his songs became popular themes and anthems, including God Bless America, White Christmas, Easter Parade and There's No Business Like Show Business.
