To help celebrate the launch of Fox Valley Repertory's 2012 season with the opening of the behind-the-scenes "Gone With the Wind" comedy titled Moonlight and Magnolias, Fox Valley Rep is hosting a special screening of the classic film "Gone With the Wind" at the historic Arcada Theater in downtown St. Charles on Sunday, January 15, 2012 at 3pm (105 E. Main Street, St. Charles, IL 60174).

General admission movie tickets are priced at $10 with all proceeds benefiting Fox Valley Repertory, the largest non-profit theater and performing arts educator in the area. Fox Valley Rep supporters and "Gone With the Wind" movie fans are invited to dress up in old-fashioned southern style (optional), eat popcorn, play trivia, participate in a raffle, and win prizes while watching the film on the big screen of the restored Arcada vaudeville-style Theater. Prizes will include the unique opportunity to attend Fox Valley Rep's dress rehearsal and video shoot for Moonlight and Magnolias, be a VIP guest at the opening night party and reception of the play, become a year-round season ticket holder at Fox Valley Rep, and much more.

Tickets can be purchased in advance by visiting www.foxvalleyrep.org/MoonlightandMagnolias or by calling 630-443-0438. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the door. Doors will open at 2:30 PM with trivia and raffle prizes taking place at intermission.

"The Arcada is a historic venue and is the perfect place to see the classic Academy Award winning movie on the big screen," says Development Manager Scott Piner. "This year also celebrates the 75th year anniversary of the Pulitzer Prize Winning book by Margaret Mitchell."

Fox Valley Rep launches their 2012 theater season with Ron Hutchinson's comedy Moonlight and Magnolias, opening January 19 on the Pheasant Run Mainstage and running through March 11, 2012.

About Moonlight and Magnolias
The year was 1939 in Hollywood, and the movie "Gone With the Wind" was in production. But just three weeks later, legendary producer David O. Selznick closed the set and fired Director George Cukor. With just five days to get back on track, Selznick hired screenwriter Ben Hecht to write a new script from Margret Mitchell's bestselling 1037 page novel. One problem though - Hecht had never read the novel! This left Selznick no choice but to pull Director Victor Fleming from "Wizard of Oz" and lock him in a room with Hecht and himself until the script was complete.

This sets the scene for Ron Hutchinson's comedy of what happened when these three men were locked in Selznick's office for five long days to write the new 130 page script, acting out the memorable moments and characters from what is now considered to be one of the finest films of all time and winner of ten Academy Awards. Audience members get to enjoy the ride as they experience the behind-the-scenes glimpse of "Gone With the Wind" as seen through the eyes of these comical and desperate creators in 1939 Hollywood.

To purchase tickets to the play, visit www.foxvalleyrep.org or call the Pheasant Run Box Office at 630-584-6342. "Gone With The WInd" movie tickets can be purchased at www.foxvalleyrep.org/MoonlightandMagnolias.
