Gene Siskel Film Center presents the Chicago Premiere of the new documentary about legendary choreographer Bill T. Jones.

This soaring, no-holds-barred documentary follows the two-year artistic journey of acclaimed choreographer Bill T. Jones (Last Supper at Uncle Tom's Cabin, FELA!) as he struggles to incorporate his own evolving and conflicting impressions of Abraham Lincoln's legacy into the creation of Fondly Do We Hope...Fervently Do We Pray, a piece commissioned by the Ravinia Festival to commemorate the Lincoln bicentennial. Jones's tough-love relationship with his dancers is at the heart of the story as the daily tug-of-war between his vision and the physical possibilities of realization culminates in a provocative artistic experience that explores what it means to be free in a most singular manner.

Dancers Paul Matteson, Shayla-Vie Jenkins, and LaMichael Leonard of the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company will participate in a panel discussion moderated by Welz Kauffman, President and CEO of Ravinia Festival, following the 7:45 pm screening on Tuesday.
