Fox Valley Repertory kicks off their 2012 season with a variety of improv, musical tributes and comedic combat, including: Chicago's finest improv troupe The Best of Second City, some of the best comedic swordplay in the country, The Swordsmen, and a weekend of the popular Beatles band, American English, at Pheasant Run Resort (4051 E. Main St., St. Charles, IL; 630-584-6342).

The Second City's The Best Of The Second City tour features some of the best sketches, songs, and improvisations from The Second City's fifty two year history. The Second City is truly a Chicago landmark and a National Treasure. From the company that launched the careers of Tina Fey, Stephen Colbert, Steve Carell, Gilda Radner, Bill Murray and more, comes the next generation of the comedy world's best and brightest in an evening of hilarious sketch comedy and Second City's trademark improvisation. Audiences will enjoy being part of the show and playing along with the next generation of comic legends. The Best of Second City performs Friday, January 6, 2012 at 8pm. Tickets are $42.

After sold-out performances, American English is back to rock Pheasant Run with the complete musical history of The Fab Four. With familiar costumes, vintage instruments and special effects, this band is as close as you'll ever get to reliving The Beatles. From The Ed Sullivan show to Abbey Road, you'll be twisting and shouting to all of your favorite Beatles tunes. American English performs Friday, January 13 and Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 8pm. Tickets are $42 and is sponsored by Kane County Chronicle.

Known for their annual award-winning swordplay at the Bristol Renaissance Faire and throughout the country, Master Swordsmen Dirk Perfect (Douglas E. Mumaw) and Guido Crescendo (David Woolley) return to Pheasant Run as The Swordsmen. Learn honor and the art of chivalry through some of the best comedic combat in the area! The Swordsmen perform Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 8pm. Tickets are $32.

Ample free parking and valet services are available at Pheasant Run Resort. The resort and theater is wheelchair accessible and hearing amplification systems are available. Ask the box office about dinner packages with Pheasant Run Resort's award-winning Harvest Steak & Seafood Restaurant and the newly remodeled Garden Atrium.

Pheasant Run Resort is located at 4051 E. Main St. in St. Charles, IL. For tickets, call the Pheasant Run Box Office at 630-584-6342 or visit www.ticketmaster.com. Additional performance information can be obtained at www.foxvalleyrep.org.
