Final Performers Announced For Random Acts' #SAFESPACE This Monday  Image

Random Acts is thrilled to announce the complete list of artists for the inaugural #SafeSpace event, launching on Monday, March 19th at 8pm hosted by Sadieh Rifai (Amazon's Patriot.) Proceeds from the event, which will be held at Galway Arms (2442 N. Clark) will be donated to Planned Parenthood.

In addition to Rifai, the evening will feature female and non-binary talent in celebration of Women's History Month. Joining the previously announced performers are Chicago Fire's Robyn Coffin, Emilie Rose Danno (appearing next in Metropolis Fine Arts Centre's Avenue Q), plus vocalists Bridget Adams-King, Catherine Cable-Barber, Alexandra Alontaga and Mariah Furlow. The evening will also feature Dani Mohrbach, singer/songwriter Rosa Reinemann, and stand-up comedians Brittany Meyer and Whitney Wasson. These artists join the previously announced Colleen DeRosa, Carin Silkaitis, Rosie Roche (burlesque), Rae-Hamilton Vargo (poetry), and singer/songwriter Sarah Holtschlag.

Writers for the event include Amina Henry, Caridad Svich, Jennifer Maisel, Cassandra Rose and Lindsay Partain. Biographies for all artists are available at RandomActsChicago.com.

For each $5 donated, patrons will be entered into a raffle for a feminist-themed gift basket. Food and drinks can be purchased from Galway Arms, including $4.50 IPAs and various wines available for less than $5/glass.

ABOUT Sadieh Rifai
Sadieh Rifai was an ensemble member at American Theater Company, where her credits include the world premiere of The Humans (Jeff Award nomination for Best Ensemble),The Amish Project, Hedwig and the Angry Inch (co-production with About Face Theatre),The Original Grease, Columbinus, Doubt, Agnes of God and Speech and Debate (After Dark Award for Outstanding Performance). Other Chicago credits include Evening at the Talk House (A Red Orchid Theatre) Christmas Carol (Goodman Theatre) Ski Dubai (Steppenwolf First Look) and The Piano Teacher (Next Theatre). Film credits include The Wise Kids, Nate and Margaret and Olympia. Television credits include Chicago Med and Amazon's Patriot in which she plays the recurring role of Mahtma El-Mashad. She is a graduate of the School at Steppenwolf and received the Princess Grace Award in 2011. Sadieh and her brother Adal have a podcast on iTunes called Siblings Peculiar.
